Zinc-plated steel washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments.
Galvanized steel washers have better corrosion resistance in wet environments than zinc-plated steel and can be used outdoors
304 stainless steel washers are more corrosion resistant than zinc-plated steel. They also have good chemical resistance.
316 stainless steel washers have excellent resistance to chemicals and salt water.
Aluminum washers are about half the weight of steel and resist corrosion in wet environments.
