EPDM Foam—These EPDM foam seals have hollow construction for more compressibility than solid seals. They resist water, sunlight, and ozone. They’re softer and more flexible than EPDM seals and will effortlessly conform to uneven surfaces to shield against dust, noise, and vibration. The foam has closed-cell construction, which resists absorption.
Acrylic Plastic Adhesive—Seals with an acrylic plastic adhesive backing are good for light duty applications where they won’t be jostled or hit frequently. The adhesive has some resistance to water and chemicals.
3M—Seals with a 3M acrylic plastic adhesive backing are more resistant to peeling and shearing than seals with an acrylic adhesive backing. Use them when you need extra sticking strength to resist repeated impact, such as on a door or door frame. They create a permanent moisture barrier and airtight seal between the seal and the surface it’s stuck to, but only if you let the bond cure for 72 hours.

    EMI/RFI Shielding Gaskets

These gaskets absorb electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) to prevent inaccurate signals, flickering displays, and other electrical problems. They compress to fill gaps and complete a grounding path around doors and access panels.

    Polyurethane Foam

Sheets work well between two flat surfaces.
Polyurethane Foam—Polyurethane foam gaskets are covered with either a conductive nickel/copper braided fabric or conductive aluminum foil. A nonconductive adhesive holds them in place. To protect sensitive equipment, they block at least twice as much interference as urethane foam gaskets. Cut these gaskets to length with scissors.
Adhesive Backing—Adhesive-back gaskets stick to flat surfaces.
UL 94 V-0—Gaskets that meet UL 94 V-0 self-extinguish within 10 seconds if they catch fire and won’t spread the fire by dripping.
