Impact-Resistant Work Gloves

Shield the tops of your hands from bumps and bruises in tight spaces around heavy equipment. These gloves are often worn when handling heavy materials or machinery. All meet ANSI/ISEA 138, which rates impact resistance based on how much force they absorb. The higher the rating, the greater the protection. They also meet ANSI/ISEA 105 and EN 388 standards for various forms of protection, such as cut, abrasion, and puncture resistance.
Gloves with a nitrile coating resist chemicals and oil. Cotton/polyester gloves have woven palms with a corded texture, which help absorb oils and liquids. They provide a strong grip when working in wet or oily environments. Textured gloves give you a secure grip on slippery objects. Gloves with a reinforced thumb have additional material between the thumb and pointer finger to extend the life of the glove.

Heat-Protection Gloves

Designed for intermittent handling of hot pipes, engine parts, and castings, these gloves protect your hands from moderate heat and some abrasion. Holding heavy objects may decrease the temperature rating.
Cotton terry gloves absorb moisture and have an outer layer that dissipates heat. Kevlar/Nomex/cotton blend gloves have an outer layer that protects against heat and a soft inner lining for comfort. Gloves that meet ANSI/ISEA 105 standards are rated for various forms of protection, such as cut, abrasion, or heat resistance.

Coated Cut-Protection Gloves

The coating on these gloves provides extra protection and wear resistance. All meet the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, which designates levels of cut resistance based on the force needed to cut through the material of the glove using a razor blade.
Kevlar aramid gloves absorb moisture. Dyneema gloves are thinner, more breathable, and more form fitting than Kevlar gloves.
Palm-coated gloves have an uncoated back side that makes the gloves more comfortable and breathable. Fully coated gloves provide the same protection for the front and back of the hand.
Nitrile-coated gloves are oil resistant and have better abrasion resistance than other coated gloves. Polyurethane-coated gloves offer good tactility for precision handling and delicate tasks.
Style A provide cut protection without hindering dexterity. They are textured to provide added grip. For a secure fit, they have a knit cuff.
Style C are suitable for working with oily heavy metal parts with sharp, rough edges. They have a smooth surface. Open cuffs make them convenient to put on and take off.

Cut-Protection Gloves

These gloves meet the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, which designates levels of cut resistance based on the force needed to cut through the material of the glove using a razor blade. They are made from kevlar aramid, so they absorb moisture. Knit cuffs provide a secure fit.
Style B gloves have raised dots on both sides for a secure grip in wet and oily conditions. Gloves are ambidextrous and can be worn on either hand for convenience or to extend use when the grip on one side wears down.

Oil- and Cut-Protection Gloves

Often used on machine assembly jobs where protection against oil and cuts is essential, these gloves are thin enough for precision work. They resist tearing and degradation from oil and grease. All of these gloves meet the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard, which designates levels of cut resistance based on the force needed to cut through the material of the glove using a razor blade.
Gloves with open cuffs are more convenient to put on and take off than other gloves.
Protectors for Electrical-Protection Gloves

Wear these protectors over electrical-protection gloves to meet ASTM standards when working with live electrical equipment. They also protect your gloves from scrapes and tears. All have an arc rating, which measures a protector’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns. The higher the rating, the greater the flame resistance. They meet NFPA 70E for arc-flash protection as well as ANSI/ISEA 105 for resistance to cuts or punctures. Higher cut or puncture ratings mean more protection.
Choose protectors that are the same size as the gloves they will be worn over. To comply with ASTM standards, the cuff of the glove should extend past the end of the protector. For Class 00 and Class 0 ratings, the gloves must be at least 1/2" longer than the protector. For all other classes, the number of inches that the glove extends past the protector should match the class number. For example, Class 1 gloves should be 1" longer than their protector.
Protectors that cannot be sold to Canada are restricted due to import regulations.

Stick Welding Gloves

Shield your hands from welding sparks and spatter common in stick welding. These gloves protect from heat better than TIG and MIG welding gloves, but their thick construction makes it harder to handle small parts.
Look for gloves with padding, an aluminum-coated lining, or a Mylar inner layer for added protection against heat. Padding lets you lean against hot surfaces as you weld.
Gloves that meet ANSI/ISEA 105 standards are rated for various forms of protection, such as cuts, abrasions, punctures, and heat. The higher the rating, the greater the protection.
Static-Dissipative Gloves

Made with conductive fibers, these gloves safely drain static electricity to prevent damage to sensitive electronic parts.
Polyurethane-rubber-coated gloves are thin and lightweight. Use them for assembly work, small parts handling, and other jobs that require a sensitive touch. They’re fully coated to keep liquids out, so your hands stay dry.
Smooth gloves are grippy enough to handle dry objects. They allow for more precise handling than textured gloves.
Gloves that meet ANSI/ISEA 105 standards are rated for various forms of protection, such as resistance to cuts, abrasions, or punctures. The higher the rating, the more protection.
Gloves that meet EN 388 adhere to European standards for resistance to abrasions, tears, cuts, and punctures. This rating is similar to ANSI/ISEA 105.

Clean Room Gloves

Cleaned and bagged in environments with low levels of particulates, these gloves won't contaminate your work area.
Style A gloves are knitted—the higher the knitting gauge, the thinner the glove. Thinner gloves let you move more freely and feel finer details; thicker gloves are more durable. These gloves have a rubber coating for a secure grip and an extra layer of protection without restricting movement. Nitrile-coated gloves resist oil and chemicals.
Gloves that meet ANSI/ISEA 105 are rated for various forms of protection, such as cut, abrasion, or puncture resistance. The higher the rating, the greater the protection.
