Norton General Purpose Toolroom Grinding Wheels for Metals

Use these wheels for precision grinding on surface, cylindrical, and tool and cutter grinders. They are also known as Type 1 wheels and straight wheels.

Truing and cleaning before first use is recommended.

Norton 38A Abrasive—38A white wheels are for light material removal. They stay cool during use, so they're a good choice for heat-sensitive applications. They are aluminum oxide, which is the most common abrasive used in grinding metal.

Norton 32A Abrasive—32A purple wheels are for medium to heavy material removal. They are aluminum oxide.

Norton Long-Life Toolroom Grinding Wheels for Metals

A more durable abrasive allows these wheels to remove more material and last longer than Norton General Purpose Grinding Wheels. They are also known as Type 1 wheels and straight wheels.

Norton 32AA Abrasive—32AA purple wheels are for medium to heavy material removal. They are a blend of aluminum oxide and ceramic alumina, which lasts up to twice as long as Norton 32A General Purpose Grinding Wheels.

Norton 5SG Abrasive—5SG blue wheels are for heavy material removal. They are ceramic aluminum oxide, which lasts up to five times as long as Norton 32A General Purpose Grinding Wheels.
