Arc-Flash-Protection Clothing Kits
For protection from arc flash hazards, these kits include several of the safety items you may need. All items meet NFPA 70E for protection against flames and electrical arc flashes.
Choose clothing that meets the arc rated personal protective equipment (PPE) category required by your workplace. PPE Category 2 kits have the most common arc-flash-protection rating for industrial applications. PPE Category 4 kits provide the highest level of protection from arc flashes.
Style A kits come with a hard hat, face shield, hood, and storage bag.
Style B kits come with a hard hat, face shield, hood, coveralls, and two storage bags.
Style C kits come with a hood, jacket, bib overalls, and two storage bags. The jacket and bib overalls are made of Gore-Tex Pyrad, which is lighter in weight than most Category 4 fabrics, but just as protective.
When measuring chest size, measure around the fullest part of your chest. Take all measurements over any garments you expect to wear under the protective clothing.
Clothing kits that cannot be sold to the listed areas are restricted due to chemical regulations.

Flame- and Arc-Flash-Protection Hard-Hat Liners
Often used in utility work, metalworking, and welding, these hard-hat liners meet NFPA 70E to protect from flames and electrical arc flashes. They also shield your head and nape from the wind and cold. Secure the liner to your hard hat with the attached hook and loop tabs on each side. Choose a hard-hat liner that meets the arc rated personal protective equipment (PPE) category required by your workplace.
Liners with head, nape, and neck coverage have two layers of insulation inside the flame-resistant shell to protect against the cold: a mid-layer of aramid/modacrylic fabric and an inner layer of cotton/modacrylic fleece.
Liners with a removable nape cover allow you to cool off your nape by zipping off the back. With the nape cover removed, the liner protects the head like a cap.
Use liners with warming pad slots for extra warmth around the ears—slip hand warmer pads (sold separately) into the slots on each side.
Add masks to protect your mouth, chin, and nose. They have hook and loop tabs on each side that stick to the sides of the liner.

Spark-Resistant Bandanas

Absorb sweat and stay cool by wearing these bandanas around your head or neck. They meet NFPA 70E and ASTM F1506 standards, so they’re safe to wear when sparks are flying. To keep you cool, they contain water-absorbing crystals. Run these bandanas under cold water for a few minutes, then the crystals will relieve heat through evaporation for up to 4 hours. They're made of a soft, breathable cotton and modacrylic blend that resists flames and protects against radiant heat.

Arc-Flash-Protection Face Shields

Protect your face from low-level arc flashes when a full hood is not necessary. These shields meet NFPA 70E standards for protection against electrical arc flashes for personal protective equipment (PPE) category 2. Choose shields that meet the arc rated PPE category required by your workplace.
The shields meet ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 basic impact standards when worn with safety glasses or goggles. The lens on these shields flips up, so you can keep your hard hat on during breaks from electrical work. All hard hats have a ratchet suspension that adjusts with an easy-turn knob.
Shields with a green lens have a light tint that absorbs visible light and blocks glare. They let through 55% of visible light. While the green tint reduces glare, it also distorts colors, which may limit your ability to distinguish them.
Shields with a bronze or gray lens allow all wavelengths of visible light to pass through without distorting colors. They’re ideal for electrical workers who work with colored wires or electrical tape.
Shields with a chin guard protect your face from below. Those with side guards extend protection on the sides.

Arc-Flash-Protection Hoods

These hoods meet NFPA 70E standards for protection against electrical arc flashes for personal protection equipment (PPE) category 4. Check the PPE category and minimum arc rating provided for your workplace, and then select all required clothing and personal protective equipment to meet the minimum arc rating. Arc rating measures a garment’s ability to insulate the wearer from burns; the higher the arc rating, the greater the flame resistance. Each hood has a hard hat with adjustable headgear and a face shield with an antifog coating.
Optional fan (sold separately) mounts on your hood and pumps air inside using a fan motor. It operates on four AA batteries (not included).
