L-Keys

The highest quality L-keys you can buy for tightening and loosening screws. Our L-keys are precision manufactured to tight tolerances for an exact fit and withstand high torque without bending or breaking. Made of hardened steel or stainless steel, they'll last a lifetime in your tool kit.

Steel—Our strongest, most wear-resistant L-keys. Steel is best for dry environments, since moisture will cause it to rust.

Black-Oxide Steel—The dark, matte coating withstands occasional moisture.

Blue-Painted Steel—These metric-sized L-keys have a distinctive blue color, so you can easily tell them apart from inch L-keys. The coating provides minimal corrosion resistance, so they are best for dry environments.

Gold-Plated Steel—The 14-Karat gold finish resists corrosion better than black oxide to withstand rust in most wet and outdoor applications. However, gold is not as hard as other finishes, so it may wear off over time.

Nickel-Plated Steel—The plating resists salt water and chemicals better than gold plating and is less likely to wear off.

Black Phosphate-Coated Steel—Paint adheres evenly to the surface of these L-keys, so you can add your own finish. The dark, matte coating resists rust in most wet and outdoor applications. However, it won't hold up to salt water and chemicals.

Stainless Steel—With solid stainless steel construction, these L-keys have no coating that could flake off and damage the screw drive. They resist salt water and chemicals better than most of our steel L-keys, but are not quite as strong.

Zinc-Plated Steel—Offer slightly better corrosion resistance than plain steel L-keys to stand up to occasional moisture.

Easy-Align Ball-Tip L-Keys

Turn screws at an angle when you can't access them head on. These L-keys have a ball tip on the long leg that engages the drive with less contact than a straight tip. They're handy for corners and tightly-packed areas, such as control panels and junction boxes. However, ball tips don't grip as tightly as straight tips and may strip the drive of the fastener if you crank them too hard. These L-keys are precision manufactured to tight tolerances. Single Ball	Double Ball

With a stubby leg that's up to 50% shorter than others, these L-keys squeeze into spots with low overhead clearance, such as engine compartments. A ball tip on one or both ends engages the drive with less contact than a straight tip, so you can turn screws at an angle instead of head on. Ball tips don't grip as tightly as straight tips, however, and may strip the drive of the fastener if you crank them too hard.

Chrome-Plated Steel—The chrome plating resists salt water and chemicals better than gold and black phosphate and is less likely to wear off. These L-keys have the brightest, shiniest finish we offer to stand out in your tool box.

Stubby Easy-Align Ball-Tip L-Key Sets

Fasten a variety of screw sizes in compact machinery where overhead clearance is minimal. These L-keys have a stubby leg that's up to 50% shorter than others to squeeze into extremely tight spaces. They also have a ball tip on one or both ends that engages the drive with less contact than a straight tip, so you can turn screws at an angle instead of head on. Ball tips don't grip as tightly as straight tips, however, and may strip the drive of the fastener if you crank them too hard.
