Medium-Strength Grade 5 Steel Hex Head Screws
Partially Threaded
Twice as strong as low-strength steel screws, these Grade 5 screws are suitable for fastening most machinery and equipment. For quick identification, their heads are marked with three radial lines. All screws meet ASME B18.2.1, which means they’re made to strict dimensional standards. They also meet either ASTM A449 or SAE J429 standards for material quality. Length is measured from under the head.
Steel screws are best for dry environments, since moisture will cause them to rust. They require little surface prep before applying a finish, so you can apply your own paint or coating.
Match the thread spacing of mating components. Coarse threads are the industry standard; choose these screws if you don’t know the threads per inch.
