About Lifting with Hoist Rings

Hoist Rings—For Lifting
Designed for angular lifting, hoist rings resist stresses that would bend or break an eyebolt. They have a lifting ring that pivots 180° front to back and a base that swivels 360° to compensate for pitch, roll, and sway when lifting heavy or unbalanced loads. Install the base of the hoist ring flush to the mounting surface and tighten to the recommended torque that is stamped on the ring. Torque wrenches are sold separately.
Machined hoist rings have a smooth finish to protect slings and hooks from damage and excess wear during lifting.
Black-oxide steel hoist rings have mild corrosion resistance.
Nickel-plated steel hoist rings are more corrosion resistant than black-oxide steel hoist rings.
316 stainless steel hoist rings are the most corrosion resistant.
High-visibility hoist rings are fluorescent green, so they’re easy to distinguish from other hardware when attached to equipment being lifted.
Hoist rings that are CE marked meet European safety standards.
Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. As the lift angle changes from vertical, the amount of weight the hoist ring can lift is significantly reduced. For example, when lifting a 1,000 lb. load at a 45° angle, you must choose a hoist ring with a capacity of at least 1,400 lbs. Do not use at an angle less than 30°.
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.

Side-Mount Hoist Rings—For Lifting
Choose these hoist rings when you need to lift your load from the side.
D-shape hoist rings have a wider end than triangle hoists, so it’s easier to attach webbing and large hooks.
Triangle hoist rings have a narrow end to keep chain in place.
Black-oxide steel hoist rings have mild corrosion resistance.

Swivel-Under-Load Hoist Rings—For Lifting
The ball bearing on these hoist rings makes it easy to rotate your load even after it’s suspended. For unbalanced or heavy loads, the base also swivels to compensate for pitch, roll, and sway. Their lifting ring pivots 180° front to back. Ideal for angular lifting, these hoist rings withstand stresses that bend or break eyebolts.
Install the base of these hoist rings flush to your mounting surface. Use a torque wrench to tighten to the recommended torque stamped on the ring.

Removable-Shackle Hoist Rings—For Lifting
Remove the shackle after lifting while keeping the base installed for future use.

Quick-Release Hoist Rings—For Lifting
Easily slip these hoist rings in and out of threaded holes by pushing the button to retract their threads. Install them flush to your mounting surface. Ideal for angular lifting, these hoist rings withstand stresses that break or bend eyebolts.
All are CE marked, so they meet European safety standards.
The ring on 180° pivot hoist rings moves from front to back. Their base does not swivel for added stability.
180° pivot and 360° swivel hoist rings not only have a ring that moves from front to back, but their base also swivels to handle pitch, roll, and sway when lifting heavy or unbalanced loads.

Tension-Indicating Hoist Rings—For Lifting
An indicator dot changes from red to black when these hoist rings are properly tightened, eliminating the need for a torque wrench. The dot changes back to red if the hoist ring comes loose. Ideal for angular lifting, these hoist rings withstand stresses that bend or break eyebolts. They have a lifting ring that pivots 180° front to back and a base that swivels 360° to compensate for pitch, roll, and sway when lifting heavy or unbalanced loads. A black oxide finish gives these hoist rings mild corrosion resistance.
Install the base of these hoist rings flush to your mounting surface.

Rotating Eyebolts—For Lifting
Unlike conventional eyebolts, you can rotate the eye 360° to match the angle of your load.
Powder-coated steel eyebolts are impact resistant, but less corrosion resistant than stainless steel eyebolts. They include a removable key for tightening the bolt.
Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. Eyebolts with shoulder can be used for angular lifting up to 45°, but the capacities will be significantly reduced. For angular lifting, we recommend Hoist Rings.

Nylon-Coated Eyebolts—For Lifting
Route wire and cable through the smooth eye without snagging.
Note: Capacities listed are for vertical lifting only. Eyebolts with shoulder can be used for angular lifting up to 45°, but the capacities will be significantly reduced. For angular lifting, we recommend Hoist Rings.
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.

Eye Nuts—For Lifting
Create your own lifting eye by adding an eye nut to a stud or bolt.
Zinc-plated steel eye nuts offer good corrosion resistance.
Galvanized steel eye nuts have a hot-dipped finish for more corrosion resistance than zinc-plated steel.
Note: Capacity applies to the eye nut only. The stud or bolt you use will affect the overall capacity. Eye nuts are for vertical lifting only.
Warning: Never use to lift people or items over people.
