    Lever-Locking Indexing Hinges

Image of Product. Front orientation. Hinges. Lever-Locking Indexing Hinges.
Keep enclosure doors, control panels, and guards from slamming shut while you're working. These hinges hold doors open at any angle—just turn the lever to lock in place.
Black Nylon—The lightweight alternative to metal hinges. Slippery and abrasion resistant, they swing smoothly.
Black Zinc—These hinges withstand occasional exposure to moisture.
Black Nickel-Plated Aluminum—The black plating adds an attractive finish to aluminum. These hinges are about half the weight of zinc alloy hinges and resist rust.

Providing constant resistance through the full range of motion, these supports hold lids open at any angle up to 70° or 90°. Simply raise or lower the lid and let go—friction keeps it in position. These supports can be used individually but should be used in pairs for lids longer than 24". Mounting position is determined as you look into your cabinet or chest.
All of these supports are rated for torque instead of maximum lid weight. Calculate your lid's torque and make sure it falls within the range listed—too much torque will cause your lid to slam; too little will prevent it from closing. Torque = Lid Height (inches) × 0.5 × Lid Weight (lbs.).
Side Mount, Opens Up—Supports for lids that open up from the side are often used in overhead installations.
Top Mount, Opens Up—Supports for lids that open up from the top are often used on crates, hatches, and tool chests.

Hold lids, panels, and doors open without props, locks, or springs. These hinges move smoothly into position and resistance keeps them there.
304 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these hinges resist rust. However, they won't hold up to the harsh chemicals that 316 stainless steel hinges can.
Torque—When selecting a hinge to use with a lid, first find the torque force needed to move the lid. Multiply the weight of the lid (in pounds) by the distance between the hinge and the center of the lid (in inches). For example: if the lid weighs 3 lbs. and the distance between the hinge and the center of the lid is 12", the torque force is 3 lbs. × 12"= 36 in.-lbs. Divide the torque force by the number of hinges. For example, if using two hinges 36 in.-lbs. ÷ 2 = 18 in.-lbs. each.

Also known as hatch springs, these supports are commonly used on hatches and other top-opening lids. Raise the lid to extend the spring, which props the lid open—an internal cable keeps the spring from overextending. Press the center of the spring to release the hold and close the lid. To secure the lid in a closed position, use a latch or lock (not included). These supports are rated for maximum lid weight—do not exceed the weight listed. They can be used individually but should be used in pairs for lids longer than 24".
Reversible Mount—Reversible mount supports are for right-side or left-side mounting positions.

Hold doors open within the 85° to 110° range without adding clutter to your floor or walls. The hold-open function can be turned on or off by turning a knob or nut on the holder. In the off position, holders act as a shock-absorbing stop to prevent doors from opening too far.
1 7/8" Minimum Required Door-to-Frame Clearance—Holders with a 1 7/8" minimum required door-to-frame clearance have a broader mounting footprint than those with 7/8" minimum required door-to-frame clearance for increased stability.

Manually control these standard free-moving lid supports through their full range of motion. Raise or lower the lid until the hold-open mechanism on the support is engaged; slightly lift it again to release the hold and close the lid. To secure the lid in a closed position, use a latch or lock (not included). These supports are rated for maximum lid weight—do not exceed the weight listed. They can be used individually but should be used in pairs for lids longer than 24".

    Multi-Axis Friction Hinges

Image of Product. Front orientation. Hinges. Multi-Axis Friction Hinges.
Move objects up, down, and all around—these hinges rotate 360° and tilt to any angle within their range. Mount them to equipment panels, carts, workstations, and vehicle trays.
430 Stainless Steel—Made of an economical stainless steel alloy, these hinges resist corrosion from mild chemicals and water. However, they won't hold up to long-term outdoor exposure like 304 stainless steel can.
Tilt Torque—When selecting a hinge, first find the torque force needed to move the panel. Multiply the weight of the panel (in pounds) by the distance between the hinge and the center of the panel (in inches). For example: if the panel weighs 3 lbs. and the distance between the hinge and the center of the panel is 12", the torque force is 3 lbs. × 12"= 36 in.-lbs.

    Plastic Friction Hinges

Image of Product. Front orientation. Hinges. Plastic Friction Hinges.
A lightweight alternative to metal hinges for lids, panels, and doors. Instead of springs or props, these hinges use resistance to keep lids, panels, and doors open.
÷ 2 = 18 in.-lbs. each.

Keep environments free of contaminants—with plastic bushings, there's no metal-to-metal contact that can release particles as these supports open and close. Manually control these free-moving lid supports through their full range of motion. Raise the lid until the hold-open mechanism on the support is engaged; slightly lift it again to release the hold and close the lid. To secure the lid in a closed position, use a latch or lock (not included; see our clean room magnetic latches).
They are rated for maximum lid weight—do not exceed the weight listed. The supports can be used individually but should be used in pairs for lids longer than 24".
Reversible Mount—Reversible mount supports are for right-side or left-side mounting positions.
Side Mount, Opens Up—Supports for lids that open up from the side are often used in overhead installations.
Top Mount, Opens Up—Supports for lids that open up from the top are often used on crates, hatches, and tool chests.
