Made of polypropylene, these fittings stand up to acids, solvents, and other harsh substances. Also known as insert fittings, they have a barbed end that slides into semi-flexible plastic pipe and secures with a clamp (sold separately). You don’t need to wait for cement to dry, so they’re quicker to install than socket-connect fittings. Polypropylene fittings have better flexibility than nylon fittings to accommodate movement and vibration without cracking. They also have better moisture resistance, so they won’t soften or lose strength over time. All meet ASTM D2609 specifications.
