Thread-Mount Keyless Drill Chucks

Switch between drilling and driving bits in seconds. These keyless chucks require only a quick twist of their sleeve to lock and release bits. Most often used in hand-held power drills, they're a great choice for most drilling and fastening jobs, including low-torque, high-speed drilling in soft or thin materials.
Economy chucks are best for occasional drilling. They are a cost-effective upgrade from the one that comes on your hand-held power drill.
Chucks with a ratchet lock have teeth that tightly grip bits for drilling in both directions, even under high torque and vibration. The ratcheting mechanism makes it easy to tighten and release bits.

Thread-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Thread these chucks onto the spindle of portable drills and stationary machines to hold bits. They're a keyed chuck, so they hold the bit tightly, preventing it from slipping under load. Use the included key to tighten and loosen the jaws. If your machine doesn’t have a threaded spindle, mount them with a threaded drill chuck arbor.
To maximize grip and minimize wobble, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the shank size range.
Light duty chucks are small and lightweight, so they're optimized for the low-torque drilling needed for wood and plastic. They have a two-piece sleeve that would wear out quickly from the friction created when drilling in hard materials such as steel.
Medium duty chucks work for most drilling jobs in metal, wood, and plastic. A one-piece sleeve keeps them rigid when drilling in hard materials, such as steel. For accuracy and longevity, they have hardened wear points and center-ground jaws that grip the bit evenly.
Heavy duty chucks give you the rigidity and heft needed for high-torque drilling in hardened metal. Their extra mass means they resist vibration and fluctuating cutting forces to keep your bit stable. While they share all of the same features as medium duty chucks—one-piece sleeve, center-ground jaws, and hardened wear points—they grip bits tighter and stay accurate longer under heavy loads.

Corrosion-Resistant Thread-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Even when exposed to moisture and chemicals, these stainless steel chucks maintain smooth, precise operation. They’re keyed, so their jaw locks securely around bits—use the included key to tighten and loosen their hold. Thanks to their grip, they’re great for high-torque, low-speed drilling in hard materials. Mount them to the threaded spindles of hand-held drills. For machines without spindles, mount them to a threaded drill chuck arbor.
A through hole allows long bits to pass through without hitting the back of the chuck. They can also be used on an electrical discharge machine (EDM) to hold electrodes and let fluid pass through.
To maximize grip and minimize runout, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the bit shank size range.
Jacobs chucks are the most widely used drill chucks. They don’t contain lubricant, so they won’t contaminate your work area or accumulate dust. They’re great for sensitive areas, such as medical environments.

Taper-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Secure bits into your drill press, milling machine, or lathe. These chucks are keyed, so they grip bits tightly to prevent slipping under heavy loads. Use the included key to tighten and loosen the jaws. Attach these chucks to your machine with a Jacobs taper arbor. To maximize grip and minimize runout, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the bit shank size range.
Chucks with ball bearings produce less friction for the best grip on bits. Use them for tight tolerance drilling to make accurate holes. They’re also known as super chucks.
Jacobs chucks are the most widely used drill chucks. Those with a locking collar replace your older Jacobs model 633C chuck. The 1 1/16"-20 thread on the locking collar matches older drill presses.

Taper-Mount Keyless Drill Chucks
Swap out bits quickly on drill presses, milling machines, and lathes. These keyless chucks require only a twist of their sleeve to grip and release bits. They’re a great choice for low-torque, high-speed drilling. Their grip tightens as torque increases for a reliable hold on your bit. Mount them to your machine with a Jacobs taper arbor.
To maximize grip and minimize runout, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the bit shank size range.
Premium chucks stay accurate when drilling in hard materials, such as steel. They're 2-4 times more accurate than other keyless chucks and grip bits more tightly.
Jacobs chucks are the most widely used drill chucks.

Slot-Drive Taper-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Secure these chucks to the slot-drive tapered spindles on older drills and mud mixers. Their slot-drive design locks these chucks onto your tool, so they won’t slip on the spindle, no matter how often you start, stop, or reverse. They hold bits just as tightly—use the included key to tighten or loosen the jaws. These chucks are built for tough jobs, like drilling through hard materials and mixing thick slurries. For a long life and improved accuracy, they have a one-piece sleeve, center-ground jaws, and hardened wear points. They’re also known as positive-drive drill chucks.
To maximize grip and minimize wobble, choose a chuck where your drill bit diameter falls in the middle of the shank size range.
Heavy duty chucks give you the rigidity and heft needed for high-torque drilling in hardened metal. Their extra mass means they resist vibration and fluctuating cutting forces to keep your bit stable. They grip bits tighter and stay accurate longer than medium duty chucks when under heavy loads.

Corrosion-Resistant Taper-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Made of stainless steel, these chucks maintain smooth, precise operation even when exposed to moisture and chemicals. They’re keyed, so their jaw locks securely around bits—use the included key to tighten and loosen their hold. Thanks to their grip, they’re great for high-torque, low-speed drilling in hard materials. Mount them to Jacobs taper arbors on equipment ranging from hand-held drills to drill presses.

Pin-Drive Taper-Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Also known as positive-drive drill chucks, these chucks mount to the pin-drive tapered spindles on mud mixers and older drills. Their pin-drive design locks these chucks onto your tool, so they won’t slip on the spindle, no matter how often you start, stop, or reverse. They grip bits just as tightly—use the included key to tighten or loosen the jaws. These heavy duty chucks are larger and heavier than medium duty chucks, so they provide a more rigid hold under high torque. They’re made for tough jobs, like drilling through hard materials and mixing thick slurries. For a long life and improved accuracy, they have a one-piece sleeve, center-ground jaws, and hardened wear points.

Hex-Shank Drill Chucks for Power Screwdrivers and Impact Drivers

Adapt your power screwdriver, impact driver, or other hex-shank drive tool into a drill. These chucks have a 1/4" hex shank that slots into your tool’s hex drive. They’re also known as adapt-a-drive chucks.
Keyless chucks let you swap bits in and out with a quick twist of the sleeve. These chucks have a ratchet lock that secures bits tightly and absorbs vibration to prevent the jaws from loosening.
Keyed chucks grip your bit tighter than keyless chucks. Use the included key to tighten or loosen the jaws.

Slot-Drive Straight-Shank Mount Keyed Drill Chucks

Mount these chucks to the slot-drive, straight-shank spindles on older drills and mud mixers. Their slot-drive design locks these chucks onto your tool, so they won’t slip on the spindle, no matter how often you start, stop, or reverse. They hold bits just as tightly—use the included key to tighten or loosen the jaws. These medium-duty chucks are strong enough for drilling through hard materials and mixing thick liquids and slurries. For a long life and improved accuracy, they have a one-piece sleeve, center-ground jaws, and hardened wear points. They’re also known as positive-drive drill chucks.
