Medium-Strength Steel Thin Hex Nuts

High-Strength Steel Thin Hex Nuts—Grade 8
Also known as jam nuts, these are about half the height of standard hex nuts. Use in low-clearance applications or jam one against a standard hex nut to hold it in place. They're about 25% stronger than medium-strength steel thin hex nuts.
Zinc yellow-chromate-plated steel nuts are more corrosion resistant in wet environments than zinc-plated steel nuts.

The nylon insert grips the bolt to resist loosening without damaging threads. They're reusable, but their holding power lessens with each use.
