Machinable Lathe Chuck Top Jaws
Machine these jaws to fit the curves and edges of your unique workpiece for a tighter hold and more stability than standard hardened jaws. For the tightest fit to your workpiece, use boring rings to hold your jaws in place while machining.
Pointed jaws provide three points of contact on the workpiece. They are the most common choice for custom workholding.
Square jaws have more contact with a workpiece than pointed jaws for a more secure grip. They’re lighter in weight than full-grip jaws, but their hold isn’t as tight.
Full-grip jaws surround the workpiece for maximum grip from every angle, ensuring an exact fit on thin or intricate parts. This increased contact area reduces your risk of deforming parts with thin walls. They’re also known as pie jaws.
Serrated jaws work with most power lathe chucks from Kitagawa, LMC, Samchully, Toolmex, Bison, Seoam, and Auto Strong. Attach to your chuck with jaw nuts (not included). Tongue and groove jaws work with most manual lathe chucks from Bison, Toolmex, Buck, Samchully, Rohm, and Huron.
Aluminum jaws are lighter in weight than steel jaws, so they can be turned at higher speeds with less wear on your machine. Steel jaws are more durable than aluminum. For repeated use, harden them after machining.

Jaws are reversible and have teeth to grip a workpiece from its outside or inside. Fits most CNC lathe chucks made by Kitagawa, LMC, Samchully, Seoam, and Auto Strong. To ensure compatibility, match your chuck's diameter, slot width, serration type, and mounting-hole center-to-center distance. Attach to your chuck with jaw nuts (not included). Boring Rings for Machinable Lathe Chuck Jaws



Hold machinable lathe chuck jaws in place during machining to make accurate cuts, ensuring the jaws will securely grip your workpiece. These boring rings pin the jaws down, creating the same clamping pressure you’ll use on your workpiece, which keeps the jaws from warping or deforming while they hold your workpiece.
Designed with an open center, these rings leave room for you to machine the center of your jaws. Fit the pins on the rings to the screw holes on your jaws, then clamp the jaws down to hold the ring in place. Once the ring is attached, rotate it to adjust the jaws to the center of their stroke before machining.
Match standard rings to your lathe chuck’s diameter for machining the center of your jaws. Line them up with your jaws by sliding the pins along their curved tracks.
Adjustable rings fit a range of lathe chuck diameters. The pins are mounted to straight tracks—slide them in and out of the ring to adjust the diameter. They are also reversible, which allows you to machine both the inside and outside of your jaws. When the pin screws are outside the ring, you can machine the center of your jaws. Flip them around to the center of the ring to machine the outside of your jaws.

Consistently position workpieces in a three-jaw lathe chuck. These stops enable short workpieces to extend beyond the chuck's jaws, providing additional clearance. A magnetic back makes them easy to mount and remove from your chuck face.
Fixed chuck stops are a simple, consistent way to position your piece.
Adjustable chuck stops can be used with parallels or your own custom supports to position workpieces at the exact depth you need. Those that include hardened steel parallels come ready to set at various depths.

Lathe Chuck to 5C Collet Adapters

When a job calls for a 5C collet, save time by using an adapter instead of removing your lathe chuck. The adapter fits most lathe chucks. Install a 5C collet into the adapter and secure it by turning the lock with the included hex key.

Install one of these lathe chuck adapters in your 5C collet chuck or holder and its three jaws will securely grasp the workpiece. Lathe Chucks
Mount these chucks to a lathe's spindle to hold round workpieces. Also known as scroll chucks, they are self centering—all jaws move in unison, centering the workpiece as they close. Made of forged steel, these chucks are strong and wear resistant, so they maintain their shape even with continuous use. They’re often used for precision machining. You can run them at higher speeds than cast iron chucks, and they’ll last longer. Use the included lathe chuck wrench to open and close the jaws.
Chucks with fixed jaws come with one set of outside jaws and one set of inside jaws. These jaws are one-piece and keyed, so they’re best for rigid and permanent setups where you don’t need to change your jaw style. They’re commonly used in dedicated turning operations or roughing applications.
Chucks with reversible jaws come with one set of jaws that can be installed for either an inside or outside grip. These jaws are two-piece and tongue-and-groove, so they’re great for when you need to regularly switch top jaws or use soft jaws for custom clamping. This setup offers the best mix of flexibility and repeatable accuracy. Those with six jaws hold your workpiece tighter than chucks with three jaws. They also distribute the clamping force more evenly, so you’re less likely to deform parts with thin walls.
Use high-pressure grease to improve grip and prolong the life of your chuck.
A mounting plate (sold separately) is required to mount the chuck to a lathe. Select a mounting plate that matches the diameter of the lathe chuck, your lathe’s spindle type, and the spindle OD.

Economy Lathe Chucks
Choose these lathe chucks when high precision isn’t critical. Made of cast iron, they don't match up to the same tight tolerances as forged steel lathe chucks. This means they are only rated to half the maximum speed, so they may wobble at high speeds. Also known as scroll chucks, they are self-centering—all three jaws move together, centering the workpiece as they close. Use the included lathe chuck wrench to open and close the jaws. You’ll need a mounting plate (not included) to connect these chucks to your lathe.
Fixed jaw lathe chucks come with a set of inside and outside jaws.
Reversible jaw lathe chucks have one set of jaws that provide either an inside or outside grip.
High-pressure grease (sold separately) improves grip and prolongs the life of your lathe chuck.
