Standard-Wall Steel Pipe Nipples and Pipe
with Right-Hand and Left-Hand Threads
- For Use With: Air, Steam, Oil, Water, Natural Gas

- Fittings: Use Class 125 or 150 iron and steel
Pipe has clockwise (right-hand) threads on one end and counterclockwise (left-hand) threads on the other end. When you use a wrench to turn, connections on both ends tighten at the same time. Also known as Schedule 40, this pipe is designed for low-pressure applications. It is welded, so there is a weld bead on the inside. Use in noncorrosive environments.

Low-Pressure Galvanized Iron Threaded Pipe
Fittings with Right-Hand and Left-Hand Threads

One end of these fittings has clockwise (right-hand) threads and the other has counterclockwise (left-hand) threads. When you turn them with a wrench, both ends tighten at the same time. Since they’re threaded, their connections can be taken apart as needed for maintenance. Use them in low-pressure pipe lines. Made of galvanized iron, these fittings have fair corrosion resistance, but should be used in primarily noncorrosive environments.

Threaded Hose Fittings for Compressed Gas
Use these fittings to connect welding hose to pressure regulators and torches. They are also known as CGA (Compressed Gas Association) fittings. Fittings are brass for good corrosion resistance.
Fittings with left-hand threads are identified with a notch in the nut.
Note: Fittings have a CGA number that corresponds to a specific type of gas. Choose a fitting with the same CGA number as your tank and other system components.
