How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Universal Quick-Disconnect Hose Sockets for Air
Sockets accommodate five common plug shapes: Industrial, ARO, Lincoln, Tru-Flate, and European. Use them with a plug of the same coupling size to frequently connect and disconnect your line. Sockets are push-to-connect style. To connect, push the plug into the socket until you hear a click. To disconnect, slide the sleeve on the socket forward until the plug ejects. Sockets have a shut-off valve that stops the flow when the coupling is separated, so air won’t leak from the line.
Sockets with a push-on barbed end have sharp barbs that grip rubber push-on hose with no clamps or ferrules required. The more you pull on the fittings, the tighter the hose will grip. To ensure a proper connection, the barbed end has to be pushed in all the way, with the hose end concealed by the ring.
Sockets with a crimp-on barbed end insert into rubber hose and secure with a crimp-on hose ferrule.
Sockets with a safety exhaust bleed excess air pressure to prevent hose whip. To start flow, slide the outer sleeve forward. Exhaust pressure before releasing the inner sleeve by pulling the outer sleeve back.
Manifolds distribute air to multiple lines. They're aluminum to resist corrosion. Four-outlet manifolds have two inlets. You can close off one of the inlets with the included brass pipe plug.
Brass sockets have good corrosion resistance.

Lincoln Quick-Disconnect Hose Couplings for Air

A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately) that connect and disconnect quickly. Use them if you need frequent access to a line. All Lincoln plugs are compatible with any of the Lincoln sockets, regardless of the pipe size.
Plugs and sockets with a shut-off valve have a valve that stops the flow when the coupling is separated, so air won’t leak from the line. Those with a clamp-on barbed end insert into a plastic or rubber hose and secure with a clamp or a crimp-on hose ferrule.
Plugs are also known as nipples.
Sleeve-lock sockets connect by sliding back the sleeve on the socket, inserting the plug, and releasing the sleeve. To disconnect, slide the sleeve back and pull out the plug.
Zinc-plated steel is stronger and more durable than other metals. It has fair corrosion resistance, so it should be used primarily in dry environments.
Brass is softer than other metals, so it’s easier to thread together. It has good corrosion resistance.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.

Aluminum Quick-Connect Pipe Fittings for Compressed Air
Twist these fittings onto aluminum pipe for quick, sealed connections—no threading, soldering, or welding necessary. Use them to build a compressed air system in half the time it would take to build a copper or steel system. Also known as Unipipe fittings, they’re part of a quick-connect system that’s compatible with pipe from Unipipe, Transair, and Infinity.
Finger tighten the collar on the end of these fittings, then use a wrench for the final quarter turn. The inside of these fittings has a compression ring and O-ring to seal against the pipe. They’re easy to take apart as needed to modify your setup.
Choose fittings with a blue or gray collar for easy identification. Fittings with a blue collar are often used for compressed air systems. Fittings with a gray collar are often used for vacuum systems.

- For Use With: Air, Coolant, Nitrogen, Oil
- Temperature Range: 0° to 210° F
- Specifications Met: ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.9
- Pipe Nipples and Pipe: Use Quick-Disconnect Aluminum
Fittings with outlets supply air where it’s needed using ¼ universal quick-disconnect couplings. They're compatible with Industrial, ARO, or European plugs. Connect them to a saddle tap tee anywhere along your pipeline. Each outlet also has a ¼ NPT port for draining the line or attaching a pressure gauge. Connect to strut channel with a strut-mount adapter (sold separately). Do not use them in vacuum applications.
