12" and 15" high stools are lower than the typical stool, so they’re often used to repair low machinery. 18" and 19" high stools fit most comfortably when used with standard 30" high work surfaces, such as tables and desks.
Composite wood stools are economical and the classic shop stool. Wood stools are more durable than composite wood stools. Vinyl stools have padding for comfort.
Style C have three legs for stability on uneven surfaces.
Style E have a plastic shelf below the seat to keep tools and parts within reach.
Style F have three drawers and a steel storage tray with dividers for organizing tools and supplies.

Adjustable-Height Stools

Choose a seat height range with heights slightly lower and higher than your ideal setting. Stools up to 23" high fit most comfortably when used with standard 30" high work surfaces, such as tables and desks. Stools that are 24"-27" high are sized for use at standing-height work surfaces that are 36" high, such as workbenches. Stools with lever and foot pedal adjustment have an air cylinder for quick, smooth height adjustment.
Steel stools provide the most durability. Polyurethane stools resist stains, grease, water, and chemicals better than all of these materials. Vinyl stools have padding for comfort.
Styles D-H swivel so that you can work on multiple surfaces without having to stand up. Style G have a removable storage tray with dividers to organize tools and supplies. Style H have a steel shelf below the seat to keep tools and parts within reach.

Stools that are 24"-27" high are sized for use at standing-height work surfaces that are 36" high, such as workbenches. Stools 28" and higher are meant to be used at extra-high counters that are approximately 40" high.
For stools with bolt adjustment, remove and reposition the bolt to adjust height in 1" increments. Stools with lever adjustment have an air cylinder for quick, smooth height adjustment.
Stools that tilt allow you to adjust the angle of the seat. By tilting the seat forward, you promote good circulation in your legs.
