Because they carry higher currents than micro and mini receptacles, they often power motors, fans, pumps, and machine tools in automated systems. They meet UL 2237 and UL 2238, so they can be used in motor branch circuits of industrial machinery. IP rated, they protect against dust, washdowns, and temporary submersion.
