Style A	Style B	Style C

These drills work with hollow-core cutters to cut only on the periphery of the hole and produce a solid slug. This allows for a faster and easier cut than drilling with standard drill bits. Also known as magnetic core drilling machines.

They have a feed handle that mounts on the left or right side of the drill. The electromagnetic base attaches to flat ferrous surfaces (such as steel and cast iron). These drills also have a valve to adjust coolant flow. Holding force (also called drill-point breakaway) is calculated against a 1" thick steel plate.

Styles A and B—Styles A and B have a fixed base.

Style C—Style C drills adjust 7° left and right.

High-Speed Steel—High-speed steel cutters have a bright finish and are for general purpose cutting.

Titanium Nitride (TiN)-Coated High-Speed Steel—Titanium nitride (TiN)-coated high-speed steel cutters last longer than uncoated high-speed steel.

Cobalt Steel—Cobalt steel cutters offer better heat and abrasion resistance than high-speed steel.

Carbide-Tipped Steel—Carbide-tipped steel cutters last longer than high-speed steel and cobalt steel cutters and are for high-volume cutting of difficult-to-machine materials. Note: These cutters are more sensitive to shock and vibration compared to other cutters and should not be used with Jancy magnetic-base drill model USA101.
