Recessed Nozzle—Recessed nozzles are the most common and work well in most welding applications. They let your wire stick out _1/2”-_3/4” from the contact tip, so the tip is away from the high heat of the arc and lasts longer. When your wire sticks out, there is also less of a chance it will melt and fuse to the contact tip.
