    L-Handle Padlockable Multipoint Latches for Heavy Doors

    Side, top, and bottom latching points secure large, heavy doors that are subject to strenuous use, such as those on trucks and large access doors. This padlockable latch has two handles; an outside handle with a spindle that mounts through the door and an inside safety-release handle that opens the latch even if the outside handle is locked. It has a straight cam for side latching. For top and bottom latching, rods connect the top and bottom slide bolts. Use a hacksaw to cut rods and spindle to size. Select the turn direction of the latch when mounting the cam.

    L-Handle Padlockable Multipoint Latches

    Design a latching system that fastens doors at multiple points—for extra security, these L-handle latches have a spot for a padlock. The L-handle latch acts as your base. Then add the included cam latch adapter to connect to additional latch points. For each new latch point, you need an inline or 90° cam latch, a rod, and two rod adapters. Weld cam latches to the inside of your enclosure door. These L-handle latches come with multiple cams, so you can change their fixed latching distance.

    Join a handle with a cam latch and rod to create a padlockable latching system that securely fastens doors at multiple points. The handle lies flat when locked, which means it won’t snag anything passing by. Also known as compression cam latches, these latches create a tighter hold than a traditional cam latch, making them useful for doors that have a seal. Turn the handle a quarter turn to lock, then turn it another quarter turn to create compression and minimize rattling from vibration. Add a padlock for extra security.
