    L-Handle Padlockable Multipoint Latches for Heavy Doors

    Side, top, and bottom latching points secure large, heavy doors that are subject to strenuous use, such as those on trucks and large access doors. This padlockable latch has two handles; an outside handle with a spindle that mounts through the door and an inside safety-release handle that opens the latch even if the outside handle is locked. It has a straight cam for side latching. For top and bottom latching, rods connect the top and bottom slide bolts. Use a hacksaw to cut rods and spindle to size. Select the turn direction of the latch when mounting the cam.

    Turn your existing quarter-turn cam locks or latches into a latching system that securely fastens doors at multiple points. Start by connecting a cam latch adapter to your lock or latch to create additional latch points. Then, add a cam latch, two rod adapters, and a rod for each latch point you’ll need.     Inline roller cam latches rotate more smoothly than standard inline cam latches, making them easier to open and close. The cam won't scrape paint or metal chips off the frame that can damage items in your enclosures. It also compresses a bit to help minimize rattling from vibration. Good for jobs when precise distances are unknown, these latches have an adjustable latching distance. Adjust the position of the cam before installing.

Also known as compression cam locks, these locks create a tighter hold than a traditional cam lock, making them useful for doors that have a seal. Turn the handle a quarter turn to lock, then turn it another quarter turn to create compression and minimize rattling from vibration. The handle lies flat when locked, which means it won’t snag anything passing by. Choose these locks if you need several locks that open with the same key.

    Swing-Handle Keyed Multipoint Locks

    Create a keyed locking system that fastens doors at multiple points. The swing-handle lock rotates smoothly when you lift the handle to latch and unlatch the door. The handle lies flat when locked, which means it won’t snag anything passing by. This lock is often installed on server cabinets and electrical panels. It comes with multiple cams, so you can change its fixed latching distance.
    You first need a swing-handle lock, which acts as the base for these locks. Add a latch point by connecting an inline or 90° cam latch using a cam latch adapter (sold separately). For each latch point, you’ll need a cam latch, a rod, and two rod adapters. Weld cam latches to the inside of your enclosure door.
