Made of CPVC, this pipe withstands salt solutions, acids, and other harsh substances. Also known as Schedule 80 pipe, it has thick, strong walls for use in industrial plumbing and water supply applications, such as water processing and wastewater treatment. It’s comparable to Corzan.

Warning: Never use plastic pipe fittings, flanges, and pipe with compressed air or gas.

Thread Sealant

Applicator-Top Can

To prevent leaks in threaded connections, apply a sealant to the male threads. Threaded connections can be taken apart as needed for maintenance and repair. For metal threads, use PTFE tape. For plastic threads, apply a non-hardening, plastic-compatible sealant. Tape or sealants with PTFE are not recommended for plastic-to-plastic connections. When making a threaded connection be careful not to overtighten the threads. To prevent cracks and leaks, finger tighten the fitting, then wrench-tighten one to two turns. Sealants cannot be sold to Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Northern Virginia, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Utah due to local VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) regulations.

Fiberglass Pipe Nipples and Pipe for Chemicals

Our strongest plastic pipe for chemical processes is reinforced with layers of fiberglass. They handle a wide range of acids and other corrosive chemicals used in applications such as metal surface treating and plating solution lines. Pipe meets ASTM D2310 and ASTM D3567 for product dimensions, performance, and material quality.

To install, sand the inside of fittings and end of pipe to remove the surface finish. Mix adhesive (sold separately) until the color is uniform and there are no streaks. Place a thin layer of mixed adhesive approximately _1/8" thick on the sanded area of the pipe and _1/16" thick on the inside of the fitting. Push the fitting onto the pipe until the fitting is fully engaged. Wrap the adhesive-curing heat cable (sold separately) around the pipe and fitting at the joint. Do not overlap the tape. Once you have waited the full cure time, the pipe and fitting will be ready to use.

Flame-Retardant Drain, Waste, and Vent CPVC Pipe Nipples and Pipe for Chemicals

This CPVC pipe resists acids and harsh chemicals in gravity-flow waste systems. It offers better chemical resistance than ABS pipe to stand up to corrosive substances in drain, waste, and vent lines. CPVC is comparable to Corzan. Connect pipe to unthreaded female socket-connect fittings using CPVC primer and cement for a strong solvent weld. Pipe meets NSF/ANSI 14 for corrosive waste systems, UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance, and ASTM F2618 for material quality standards.

Pipe Cement

Flame-Retardant Drain, Waste, and Vent Polypropylene Pipe Nipples and Pipe for Chemicals

Made of polypropylene, this gravity-flow pipe stands up to acetone and other tough organic solvents that would dissolve CPVC pipe. It also withstands alkalies and highly corrosive acids, such as hydrochloric acid. Pipe meets ASTM and UL flammability standards. It’s also known as Schedule 40 pipe.

When you need frequent access to your line, connect clamp-on fittings to the pipe’s grooved ends. If you trim down the pipe, you'll need a grooving tool (sold separately) to add a groove for your fitting. For a permanent connection, fuse socket-connect fittings onto pipe using an electrofusion tool.

Flame-Retardant High-Purity PVDF Pipe Nipples and Pipe for Harsh Chemicals

Made of PVDF that’s finished to a 12 Ra smoothness, this pipe handles some of the harshest chemicals without leaching contaminants into your line. It won’t accumulate particles and is easy to clean, thanks to its smoothness. Comparable to Kynar, this pipe handles most organic solvents that would dissolve CPVC as well as chlorine or nitric acid that would weaken polypropylene. You can use it at higher temperatures than CPVC and polypropylene. This pipe meets UL 94 V-0 and Factory Mutual standards for flame retardance.
