Corrosion-Resistant High-Strength 1045 Carbon Steel

- Yield Strength: 75,000 psi
- Hardness: Rockwell C65 (Very Hard)
- Heat Treatable: No
- Specifications Met: ASTM A108
This steel is nitrided, which involves the absorption of nitrogen, providing a corrosion-resistant surface that won’t flake or chip. It is comparable to NitroSteel. 1045 carbon steel is stronger than low-carbon steel but just as machinable. This steel is often used for applications subject to wear and friction such as gears, shafts, and bushings. All of these rods meet ASTM A108 standards for strength, machinability, dimensions, and material.
Physical and mechanical properties are not guaranteed. They are intended only as a basis for comparison and not for design purposes.
