On/Off Valves with Sanitary Quick-Clamp Fittings for Food and Beverage

- For Use With: Food, Beverage
- Valve Type: Ball
- Specifications Met: FDA Compliant 21 CFR 177.1550
To maintain sanitary standards in food, beverage, and dairy systems that require frequent cleaning, these valves are made of FDA compliant materials. Polished to a 32 Ra finish, they have smooth internal surfaces that prevent product buildup and inhibit bacteria growth. All have sanitary quick-clamp fittings for easy disassembly. They also have a three-piece bolted body that comes apart for cleaning and inline access to internal components. Body is 316 stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. Valves have a lockable lever that can be fixed in place using a padlock (not included). They are full port, so they do not restrict flow.
Choose the seal material that suits your application. PTFE resists a broad range of food-processing chemicals, organic food acids, and fats and oils. Glass-filled PTFE won’t expand when exposed to water and heat, thanks to its glass reinforcement. More durable than unfilled PTFE, it’s good for high-stress applications. Polyethylene has a low-friction surface that prevents sticking and binding. This wear-resistant plastic handles scuffs and scrapes, and it won't degrade from food irradiation. It's often used in place of PTFE for applications where fluorocarbons can't be used.

Sanitary On/Off Valves for Food and Beverage

- For Use With: Food, Beverage
- Valve Type: Ball
- Seal Material: Mica-Filled PTFE Plastic
- Specifications Met: 3-A Certified 68-00
3-A certified as meeting sanitary design standards, these valves control the flow of liquids in food, dairy, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic plants. Made of stainless steel, they won’t corrode from frequent washdowns with harsh cleaners. They have a highly polished surface, leaving no crevices for bacteria to grow. These valves connect to quick-clamp fittings—also known as tri-clamp fittings—so they’re easily taken apart for frequent sanitizing.
Valves open to the full port size, so they won’t restrict flow. They can be disassembled by hand since their two-piece body is held together by bolts and wing nuts, making them easier to take apart for cleaning than traditional three-piece ball valves. The mica-filled PTFE seal resists food-processing chemicals, organic food acids, and fat and oil. It resists high heat and pressure better than standard PTFE seals.

Gradual On/Off Valves with Quick-Clamp Fittings for High Vacuum
Also known as vacuum isolation valves, these block flow so you can install and remove gauges from your system. They can also be used to add or vent gases in high-vacuum systems. Valves gradually open and close with multiple turns of the wheel handle to prevent system damage from suddenly starting and stopping flow. They connect to another quick-clamp (ISO-KF) fitting with a clamp and a ring (sold separately). All have a nonrising stem that stays in the same position whether the valve is open or closed. Body is 304 stainless steel for good corrosion resistance.

Air-Driven On/Off Valves for Food and Beverage

- Valve Type: Ball
- For Use With: Beverage, Food
- Seal Material : PTFE Plastic
To maintain sanitary standards in food and beverage applications, these valves have sanitary quick-clamp connections and polished internal surfaces for easy cleaning. The three-piece bolted body comes apart for access to internal components without unthreading pipe connections and removing the valve from your line. They have a ball-valve design that provides higher flow rates than other air-driven valves. All operate on compressed air to automatically start and stop flow faster than motor-driven valves. You must control the air to the actuator using either an electric pilot valve or a manual on/off valve (not included). These valves do not require a minimum pressure drop between the inlet and the outlet for operation. All are full port, so they do not restrict flow.
Body is 316 stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. The actuator is directly mounted to the valve body to minimize movement and reduce wear. A visual flow indicator on the top of the actuator shows whether the valve is open or closed. The manual override allows you to operate the valve during power outages.
Single-acting actuators only require air pressure to open the valve; they automatically spring closed when the air turns off. These valves are normally closed unless actuated. Double-acting actuators require air pressure to open and close the valve. Once actuated, these valves remain actuated until air pressure is applied, so they do not have a valve starting position.
Flow coefficient (Cv) is the amount of water (in gallons per minute) at 60° F that will flow through a fully open valve with a difference of 1 psi between the inlet and the outlet.

Sanitary Air-Driven On/Off Valves

- For Use With: Air, Argon, Beverage, Carbon Dioxide, Citric Acid, Drinking Water, Ethanol, Food, Helium, Isopropyl Alcohol, Methanol, Mineral Oils, Natural Gas, Neon, Nitrogen, Oil, Oxygen, Salt Water, Soap Solutions, Sodium Hypochlorite, Steam, Water, Xenon
- Seal Material: Silicone Rubber
- Specifications Met: FDA Compliant 21 CFR 177.2600
Use air pressure to automatically control the flow of liquids in sanitary environments, such as food and beverage processing plants. These valves connect to your liquid line with quick-clamp sanitary fittings, also known as tri-clamp connections, which are easier to remove and sanitize than threaded connections. You’ll need a gasket and clamp to connect them to another quick-clamp fitting (not included). They are also self-draining, so liquids drain completely and don’t pool on actuators or valves. The polished interior is extremely smooth, so there’s nowhere for bacteria to hide. Made of stainless steel, these valves won’t corrode from frequent washdowns with harsh cleaners. Their seal is FDA compliant for direct contact with food.
They are single-acting actuators, which open from the force of compressed air and close with an internal spring. You’ll also need either an electric pilot valve or a manual on/off valve (not included) to control the air flowing to the actuator. They open and close faster than motor driven valves and can be operated remotely, so they’re often used in automated liquid lines. Since they are normally closed unless air pressure opens them, these valves will stop the flow if there is a power outage or the air supply is cut. There must be a minimum pressure drop between the inlet and the outlet for these valves to work, meaning that the upstream pressure must be greater than the downstream pressure.
Flow coefficient (Cv) is the amount of water (in gallons per minute) at 60° F that will flow through a fully open valve with a difference of 1 psi between the inlet and the outlet.
Actuator repair kits include replacements for all parts inside the actuator.

Motor-Driven On/Off Valves for Food and Beverage

- Valve Type: Ball
- For Use With: Beverage, Food
- Seal Material: PTFE Plastic
For food and beverage systems that require frequent cleaning, these valves have polished internal surfaces and sanitary quick-clamp connections for easy disassembly. The three-piece bolted body comes apart for access to internal components without unthreading pipe connections and removing the valve from your line. Valves operate on electricity to automatically start and stop flow. They don't require a minimum pressure drop between the inlet and the outlet for operation. All are fail in place; upon loss of power, the valve will remain in its current position.. Valves are full port, so they do not restrict flow.
Body is 316 stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. The actuator is directly mounted to the valve body to minimize movement and reduce wear. A visual flow indicator on the top of the actuator shows whether the valve is open or closed. Two single pole, double throw (SPDT) auxiliary switches allow you to connect these valves to temperature-monitoring equipment, programmable logic controllers, or conveyor sirens. The internal heater automatically turns on when the valve is actuated to prevent motor damage caused by condensation buildup. The manual override allows you to operate the valve during power outages.
Flow coefficient (Cv) is the amount of water (in gallons per minute) at 60° F that will flow through a fully open valve with a difference of 1 psi between the inlet and the outlet.

Sanitary Sampling Valves

- Valve Type: Stop Cock
- For Use With: Food, Beverage
- Specifications Met: FDA Compliant 21 CFR 177.2600, FDA Compliant 21 CFR 177.1550
Take liquid samples in sanitary environments—these sampling valves have a hygienic design, so they’re commonly used in breweries and wineries. With a body made of 316 stainless steel and a PTFE plastic seat, they resist the high temperatures and harsh chemicals of clean-in-place (CIP) processes. These valves have an extremely smooth surface, leaving no space for bacteria to grow. Quick-clamp connections, also known as tri-clamp fittings, are easily taken apart for regular cleaning. These valves are self-draining, so previous samples and cleaning chemicals won’t contaminate future samples. Both the seat and the silicone O-ring comply with FDA standards for direct contact with food and beverage.
To take samples, turn the thumb screw to open valves. Hang a bucket for sample collection from the bucket groove. Valves also have a leak detection port that will release a small amount of liquid to let you know when it’s time to replace all the valve seals.
Valves with a bent spout have a tab for connecting carbon dioxide testing devices. They’re often used for carbonated beverages. They shouldn’t be used with liquids that have solids in them, such as the grape skins or seeds in wine, as those can get caught in the outlet.
