Economical Electrical-Insulating Garolite XX Sheets and Strips
Stronger than Garolite CE with better electrical-insulating properties, Garolite XX sheets and strips are often fabricated into low-cost electrical components. Garolite XX is constructed of a phenolic resin with paper reinforcement, which makes it easy to machine. It's also known as paper-grade industrial laminate, phenolic, and Bakelite.

Economical Electrical-Insulating Garolite XX Rods
- Color: Brown
- Temperature Range: -30° F to 265° F
- Tensile Strength: 8,000-23,900 psi (Excellent)
- Impact Strength: 0.35-0.55 ft.-lbs./in. (Poor)
- Hardness: Rockwell M120 (Extra Hard)
- For Use Outdoors: No
- Specifications Met: MIL-I-24768/11, UL 94 HB
Often fabricated into low-cost electrical components, these Garolite XX rods are stronger than Garolite CE rods with better electrical-insulating properties. Garolite XX is constructed of a phenolic resin with paper reinforcement, which makes it easy to machine. It's also known as paper-grade industrial laminate, phenolic, and Bakelite.

Electrical-Insulating Garolite XXX
- Color: Brown
- Maximum Temperature: 245° F
- Tensile Strength: 8,700 psi (Good)
- Impact Strength: Not Rated
- Hardness: Rockwell M110 (Extra Hard)
- For Use Outdoors: Yes
- Specifications Met: MIL-I-24768/10
More electrically insulating than Garolite XX, these tubes are often machined into insulating washers, bushings, transformer spacers, and parts of terminal boards. Made of phenolic resin with paper reinforcement, they’re lightweight yet strong. While not as strong as Garolite XX, they absorb less water, so they work well in humid environments. These tubes won’t split during machining. They also won’t wear down tooling as fast as phenolic products with glass cloth reinforcement.
