Rubber Outlet Boxes
Build your own outlet box or replace a damaged box. These boxes accept duplex receptacles on two sides. Made of rubber, they withstand drops and other types of impact. The rubber also resists oil, chemicals, and abrasion. A strain-relief fitting protects the internal wire connections.
Flip-down covers keep out dust and moisture.

Drop-Down Extension Cords with Outlet Boxes
NEMA 5-15 Plug | |
NEMA 5-15 Socket |
Put overhead outlets in arm’s reach. These extension cords suspend pendant box outlets from the ceiling. Use them instead of running extension cords on the floor to reduce tripping hazards or instead of hardwiring power for a less disruptive install. The cord is flexible enough to loop and secure with a cable tie to adjust the drop height. They are designated SOOW, which means they have insulation that protects these cords from oil, water, and chemicals. Use them near greasy equipment or in damp workspaces without them cracking or getting brittle. If the outlet box bumps into your equipment, a thick rubber housing prevents damage.
These cords have a cord grip that fastens to the ceiling, making it hard to yank the plug from the ceiling outlet. A mesh extension wrapped around the end of the cord supports the weight of hanging and the strain of bending and swinging. On the other end, another cord grip ensures the outlet box stays connected to the extension cord. They meet OSHA requirements for strain relief. These cords do not support the weight of your equipment, so rest the outlet box on your work surface when in use.
