Dowel Pins

Use dowel pins as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts. For a tight fit, your hole should be equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter shown. Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.
Steel pins are the strongest dowel pins. Steel pins are precision ground except for 1/32" diameter pins. Some pins meet material and dimensional standards set by ASME, Mil. Spec., DIN, or ISO. DIN 6325-m6 is functionally equivalent to ISO 8734, with slight differences in hardness and length tolerances.

Toggle-Lock Clevis Pins with Handle

A swivel handle makes these pins easy to install and remove, while the toggle locks them in place. Flip the toggle to release the pin.
Zinc-plated carbon steel pins have good strength and some corrosion resistance.

Strong-Hold Quick-Release Pins

Two spring-loaded balls give these pins more holding power than quick-release pins with only one retaining ball. They pop out when the pin is pushed into a hole, and retract when the pin is pulled out. For the best fit, the hole should be as close to the diameter as possible, but not larger than the diameter at extended ball height.
Pins are made of 17-4 PH stainless steel for strength with some corrosion resistance, and passivated for added protection against corrosion and oxidation. They are magnetic. Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces

Ejector Pins

Also known as knockout and forged pins, use these pins to push parts out of molds. Pins are precision-ground to tight tolerances and hardened for strength and wear resistance. Machining is not recommended.
H13 tool steel pins resist rapid changes in temperature.
Metric pins meet DIN 1530 specifications.
