An economical alternative to Delrin® acetal resin, these acetal copolymer sheets and bars offer the same naturally slippery surface and similar wear resistance. They resist expanding when exposed to heat and moisture, so they can be machined to close tolerances. Use them for parts that require precision, such as gears, bearings, and bushings.

Clear Scratch- and UV-Resistant Cast
Acrylic Sheets, Bars, and Cubes

These cast acrylic sheets, bars, and cubes are often fabricated into tanks, see-through barrier panels, and light fixture lenses. Cast acrylic, which is comparable to Lucite and Plexiglas® Acrylic, is easier to machine than extruded acrylic. The material is scratch resistant and stands up to outdoor use better than polycarbonate. It maintains clarity over time and won't weaken from exposure to UV, though the pigment in colored acrylic will fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight.

Clear High-Strength Scratch- and UV-Resistant Acrylic

- Color: Clear
- Temperature Range: 32° to 170° F
- Tensile Strength: 8,000 psi (Good)
- Impact Strength: 0.7 ft.-lbs./in. (Poor)
- Hardness: Rockwell M68 (Hard)
- For Use Outdoors: Yes
- Specifications Met: UL 94 HB
Modified for increased impact strength over other types of acrylic, these extruded acrylic sheets are often used for skylights and outdoor signs. This material is a better choice for outdoor use than polycarbonate because it is scratch and UV resistant, and it maintains clarity over time.

Lenses for Ceiling Lights

Lenses disperse light to reduce glare and protect bulbs from damage. Cut to size using a band saw or shears.
Solid lenses keep bulbs hidden and distribute light evenly. Lenses with a prismatic or cracked ice pattern distribute light better than smooth lenses. Acrylic lenses won't turn yellow over time.
