    For quick, repeatable adjustments to electronic equipment, these potentiometers adjust and save electrical settings. They’re typically used to control speed, volume, or light intensity. For example, if a conveyor needs different speeds for different tasks, you can program each speed into them. Set the digital display to show the specific measurement unit for your application, such as motor rpm.
    Install them in a standard 1/8 DIN panel cutout. They’re NEMA 4X rated to resist corrosion, washdowns, and weather.

    Linear Motion Potentiometers

    Pair these potentiometers with a controller to monitor the position of moving parts or send instructions to an electrical system. They have a rod that slides back and forth against an internal resistor, which increases or decreases the voltage flowing out to your controller. To monitor the position of a moving part, such as a robotic component, connect it to the rod. As the part moves, it pushes the rod back and forth, which allows the controller to observe and report the part’s exact position. To use these potentiometers as part of a controls system, connect them to a volume slider or other manual control. When you move the slider, the controller converts its position into instructions for electrical equipment, such as adjusting volume levels. These potentiometers are also called variable output switches.

    Compact Rotary Encoders

    Track distance, direction, and speed in tight spaces on machinery. Cylindrical and about half the size of standard position-measuring transmitters, these are often used on robot arms and crowded conveyors. Also known as encoders, they send motion data to your system by converting rotary motion into an electrical signal.

    Track the position of hydraulic cylinders and other components that move in a straight line. Like a tape measure, these sensors have a wire that extends to measure how far components have traveled from a set point. Because of the wire, they're also known as string pots—short for string potentiometers. They convert measurements to an electrical signal, which can then be used to trigger automated actions in your process.

    Fixture-Mount Motion-Sensing Light Controls

    Detect motion near your light fixture to turn lights on and off. Compared to switch-mount motion controls that detect from a single wall, these controls have a better view of the entire space since they sense motion from above. Also known as occupancy sensors, these controls have an infrared sensor that activates when it detects a change in heat. To work properly, they need an unobstructed view of your space. All have a time delay to turn lights off after a set time. Rated IP65, these controls are protected from washdowns.
    These light controls monitor motion in a full circle for coverage in all directions.
    Half-circle sensing lenses are best for concentrating coverage to a certain part of a room, such as a workstation or an entrance.
    Narrow sensing lenses are best for the end of aisles in spaces with high ceilings like those in warehouses and factories.
