Epoxy Potting Compounds for Harsh Environments
Tough enough to be permanently submersed in seawater, these compounds protect sensitive electronics, such as circuit boards, semiconductors, and sensors in harsh environments. They resist moisture, salt, and chemicals, so you can use them in corrosive oil, marine, and mining applications. These compounds can also be used within autoclaves. Because they are epoxies, they are rigid, resist wear, and create excellent electrical insulation. They withstand a wide range of temperatures, and this formulation won’t crack or split as components heat up and cool down.
They come in a cartridge, so you can apply them precisely. To dispense, they require a mixer nozzle and gun (both sold separately).

Urethane Potting Compounds
Encase electronic assemblies in a layer of urethane for protection from dust, moisture, chemicals, mechanical shock, and vibration. Urethanes withstand a wide range of temperatures and are the best choice for cold-temperature applications. They have excellent flexibility, good chemical and moisture resistance, and provide good electrical insulation.
Cartridge potting compounds can be applied precisely through the included mixer nozzle. You’ll need a dispensing gun (sold separately). US2350™ also require a 4:1 plunger (sold separately) to dispense.
Bottle potting compounds are easier to apply in high volumes than cartridge potting compounds. Mix the compounds together and pour them over components inside potting boxes and other containers. If mixing introduces any air bubbles, put the mixture in a vacuum chamber.
Compounds that cannot be sold to the listed areas are restricted by product labeling requirements.

Urethane Potting Compounds for Harsh Environments

From shore to sea floor, these potting compounds are formulated for permanent submersion in water—even salt water. Use them to protect circuits and splices in pumps, underwater lighting, and other underwater electronics from corrosion and chemicals. Made of urethane, they withstand a wide range of temperatures, especially cold underwater conditions. They provide good electrical insulation and have excellent flexibility. Since they’re more flexible than epoxy compounds, they’re often used to protect against vibration and impact.
Mix the two parts of these compounds together and pour them over components inside a potting box or other container. If mixing causes air bubbles, put the mixture in a vacuum chamber to remove them.

Light-Activated Urethane Potting Compounds

In just 20 seconds under a UV light, these urethane compounds form into a strong protective layer on electrical components. They withstand a wide range of temperatures and are good electrical insulators. They also stop chemicals, moisture, and dust from damaging your device. With excellent flexibility, they protect against vibration and impact. Since they also work as an adhesive, you can use them to bond and insulate components such as electrical connectors and thermal switches. No mixing required.

Insulating Adhesives for Electronics
Secure hardware on circuit boards while insulating current.
Cyanoacrylate adhesives dry more quickly than epoxy adhesives. They’re also known as super glue. Use them to secure coils of wire. To create adhesion, they require an accelerator (included with some adhesives).
Epoxy adhesives are two-part adhesives that need to be mixed. The size listed is the combined total of the two parts. Loctite® 2151 resist salts, mild acids, and oils. They can also handle sudden impacts and shocks.Adhesives that meet ASTM E595, a standard used by NASA, release almost no volatile emissions that could damage sensitive electronics, even in a vacuum.

Optically Clear Epoxy Structural Adhesives
For invisible bond lines, these adhesives dry clear. Epoxies are the strongest and most weather- and chemical-resistant structural adhesives. Choose an epoxy that hardens quickly for fast repairs, or one that hardens slowly to allow more time for positioning.
These have two parts that must be mixed. The size listed is the combined total of the two parts. Use cartridges with a dispensing gun and mixer nozzle to simultaneously mix and dispense adhesives.
0151 and E-30CL are suitable for fiber-optic applications.
