Press Base Plates


Lay these heavy duty plates on the crossbeams of your manual or hydraulic press to make a sturdy base for removing bearings, bushings, and arbors. Thicker, wider, and heavier than the cast iron plates found on most presses, these high-strength steel plates handle greater pressing forces and are less prone to chipping, breaking, and shattering. They have round and V-shaped notches on their sides. Place two plates next to each other to create a hole for the bearing, bushing, or arbor to pass through.

Economy V-Blocks


When high precision isn’t critical, choose these V-blocks to hold and position round workpieces. Made from cast iron, they’re a solid, stable choice in high vibration areas. They’re made in pairs to ensure their height, faces, and grooves match, so your workpiece sits level and parallel across both. However, they’re not machined to the same tight tolerances as steel and granite V-blocks. They’re also not as strong as steel under heavy loads, so they may deform or crack over time.
V-blocks with 4 vees have different-sized grooves on each side to support a range of diameters.

Adjustable-Angle V-Blocks

Use this block to hold workpieces at precise angles. Adjust the block to the desired angle, then tighten the set screw on the bottom of the block to lock it in place.

V-Blocks










Precision ground to tight tolerances, these V-blocks help you accurately align and support round workpieces.
Matched pair blocks are ground together, so their heights, faces, and grooves are identical. When you rest your workpiece across the two blocks, they keep the centerline level.
Steel blocks are easier to machine than hardened steel, so you can customize them to fit your workpiece. Hardened steel blocks are more durable and wear resistant than steel blocks, so they’ll stay precise even with heavy use.
Styles A-C have mounting slots near their base, so you can attach them to work surfaces with setup clamps (not included). Style C have a continuous slot, so you can clamp any of the sides. Choose a block with a clamp to secure your workpiece in place. The clamp is removable and shaped to fit inside the vee, so you can face it up or down to hold a variety of workpieces. Since it’s flush with the block faces, you can position the blocks on any of their sides.
Styles D-E have tapped holes, so you can mount them to face or angle plates. Style D have an extended base with a second vee, also known as a fishtail. The clamp is smaller than the outer width of the block—use the adjustable screw to support the block when it’s positioned on either side. Style E have a clamp that extends past the faces, which limits tool clearance. Style F have a clamp that sits flush with the faces, so you can position these blocks on any side. Switch the clamp between upper and lower grooves to adjust the height. Position the set screw at 45° or 90° to hold either square or round workpieces.

Magnetic V-Blocks

Magnetic surfaces on the bottom, back, and one V face of these blocks eliminate the need for mounting clamps and bolts. Turn the lever to switch the magnetic force on and off.
V-Blocks for Magnetic Workholding

Set these V-blocks onto a magnetic chuck or plate to lock metal workpieces in place—no fussing with clamps or bolts. Made of alternating layers of iron and stainless steel, these blocks conduct the magnetic field through their body and channel it straight into your workpiece. They’re often used to cradle rods, shafts, and irregularly shaped parts during grinding and inspecting. Each layer is entirely fused together with copper brazing, so you can machine these blocks without the layers separating. Compared to blocks made from aluminum or brass, these blocks are harder and more dent-resistant, so they hold their shape over time.

Granite Setup Blocks

Machined in pairs, these blocks are precision ground to tolerances thinner than a sheet of paper to give you the flattest and squarest surface for positioning workpieces. Since they are perfectly aligned to one another, they’ll keep your workpieces level and parallel. Also known as 1-2-3 blocks, they're typically used to elevate, support, and align parts for measuring and inspecting. They're made from granite, so they won’t scratch the surface of your workpiece. They also won’t warp when temperatures fluctuate. Unlike metal blocks, these granite blocks are nonmagnetic, so they won’t interfere with sensitive electronic equipment. They come with a certificate of accuracy that's traceable to NIST.
Inspection-grade A blocks are your go-to for general inspections and quality-control work. These blocks are slightly less precise than grade AA blocks with double the tolerance.
Laboratory-grade AA blocks are best for precision inspections and quality-control work in calibration labs. These blocks have the tightest tolerance for the highest level of accuracy.
