    Mortise Mount

Their spring-loaded design withstands vibration, rattling, and shaking better than other push-to-close grab latches for a more secure hold. These latches automatically hold doors shut when you push them closed. They meet UL 94 HB for flammability.
Mortise Mount—Mortise-mount latches fit into a cutout (mortise) to mount flush with doors. They press in without tools, making them fast and easy to install. However, they only fit a cutout shape that matches the latch.

    Recessed Handle Push-to-Close Latches

Image of Product. Style 2. Front orientation. Push-to-Close Latches. Recessed Handle Push-to-Close Latches, Style 2—Mortise Mount.

    Style 2

With a flat inset grip, the handle on these latches is recessed so you won’t bump them or catch clothes on them. To open, put your finger in the recess and slide the latch. Quickly push the latches closed to secure doors. A convenient alternative to cam and draw latches, they don’t require you to turn a cam or pull a latch to close. Mount these latches by simply pressing them into through-hole cutouts—there’s no need to fasten them with a screw. All require a special through-hole shape.

    Style 2

Style 2 latches will self-extinguish in the event of a fire and also meet UL standards for flammability. These latches have a mechanism you can push in the handle that temporarily keeps the latch open. This is helpful when you have multiple latches that are spaced apart on one door. It lets you keep all the latches open at the same time without needing to hold them with your fingers.

    Paddle-Handle Keyed Push-to-Close Locking Latches

Image of Product. Style 5. Front orientation. Push-to-Close Latches. Paddle-Handle Keyed Push-to-Close Locking Latches, Style 5—Mortise Mount (Screw On).

    Style 5

Also known as paddle locking latches, these are often used on electrical panels and cabinets. Quickly push the locking latches closed to secure doors. A convenient alternative to cam and draw latches, they don’t require you to turn a cam or pull a latch to close. All are keyed alike, choose them if you need several locks that open with the same key.

    Style 5

To determine door mounting location, look at the outside face of the door: if the hinges are on the right, order a right-side latch; if the hinges are on the left, order a left-side latch. Locking latches with both left- and right-side mounting can be installed on a center frame to latch and secure double doors.
Style 5 locking latches meet UL 94 HB standards for flammability.
