How to Identify and Measure Fittings
Pipe size is an industry designation, not the actual size. View information about how to measure threaded and unthreaded pipe and pipe fittings.

Industrial Quick-Disconnect Hose Couplings for Air
A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately or in a set) that connect and disconnect quickly. Use them if you need frequent access to a line. They are also known as industrial interchange couplings. All Industrial plugs are compatible with any of the Industrial sockets of the same coupling size, regardless of the pipe size or barbed hose ID.
Steel is stronger and more durable than other metals. Zinc-plated steel has fair corrosion resistance and should be used primarily in dry environments. Chrome-plated steel has fair corrosion resistance and has a bright, shiny appearance. Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.

- Maximum Pressure: 300 psi @ 72° F
- Temperature Range: -40° to 225° F
- Specifications Met: Fed. Spec. A-A-59439, ISO 6150/B, except 3/8 and 3/4 Coupling Size Plugs: ISO 6150/B
Plugs are also known as nipples. Plugs with swivel have a threaded pipe end that swivels 360° before and after installation as needed to prevent hose kinking.

Plugs are also known as nipples. Plugs with swivel and 45° pivot angle have a threaded pipe end that rotates 360° and pivots 45° in all directions. They have a PTFE sealant on the threads for extra protection against leaks, and a chrome-plated steel dust cover on the rotating joint.

Quick-Disconnect Hose Couplings for Steam
Use these couplings for low-pressure steam heating, humidification, and washdown applications up to 300 psi. A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately) that connect and disconnect quickly. Use them when you need frequent access to a line. All of the quick-disconnect steam plugs are compatible with any of the quick-disconnect steam sockets of the same coupling size, regardless of the pipe size. Plugs and sockets are brass for good corrosion resistance.
Sockets have a shut-off valve that stops the flow when the coupling is separated, so steam won’t leak from the line. They swivel before and after installation as needed to prevent hose kinking. Sockets are push-to-connect style. To connect, push the plug into the socket until you hear a click. To disconnect, slide the sleeve on the socket back until the plug ejects.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.

Metal Cam-and-Groove Hose Couplings for Chemicals and Petroleum
Made of metal, these couplings have better durability than plastic cam-and-groove couplings. A complete coupling consists of a plug and a socket (both sold separately) that allow you to quickly connect and disconnect medium-to large-diameter hose lines. To connect, insert the plug into the socket and press the levers down. The levers fit snugly into the groove on the plug’s body and force the plug against the gasket to form a tight seal. To disconnect, lift both levers and pull out the plug. Couplings are compatible with Andrews, Dixon, Ever-Tite, and PT cam-and-groove couplings.
Plugs and sockets with swivel are also known as live swivels. They rotate 360° before and after installation and can swivel continuously. Use them to prevent hose kinking.
Plugs with male threaded end are also known as F adapters.
Plugs with female threaded end are also known as A adapters.
Straight sockets with female threaded end are also known as D couplers.
Straight sockets with barbed end are also known as C couplers. Insert the barbed end into plastic or rubber hose and secure with a clamp.
Aluminum plugs and sockets are lighter in weight than 316 stainless steel plugs and sockets. They have good corrosion resistance.
Note: To ensure a correct fit, make sure that the plug and socket have the same coupling size.
Warning: Relieve all pressure before disconnecting the couplings. Do not use cam-and-groove couplings with compressed air or gas.
