Recessed Can Lights
Create recessed can lights by pairing a housing with a light. These lights fit into ceiling cutouts to provide directed, ambient lighting so they’re often used in indoor spaces such as offices and lobbies, or for decorative lighting. Rated for use in damp locations, these lights withstand humidity and moisture.
Housings for unfinished ceilings are mounted between support beams. Expand the hanger bars to fit spaces up to 25 1/4" long. Slide the housing along the hanger bars to adjust the location of the light.
Housings for finished ceilings don’t require access to support beams. They are held in place by clips.
Lights have built-in LEDs, which last longer, are more efficient, and generate less heat than other technologies. Clips on the sides hold the light in a housing.
Baffle-reflector lights minimize glare and soften the light. Smooth-reflector lights focus light down.
Install screw-in base lights using the screw-in base converter.
Lights with a hardwire connection have three switches for adjusting their brightness and light appearance.
Warm light highlights yellow tones similarly to incandescent bulbs. Neutral light is often used in offices and retail stores. Cool light is best for performing detailed tasks and inspections.

Recessed Ceiling Lights
Also known as troffers, these lights fit most standard drop-ceiling grids, so they’re often used in indoor spaces such as offices and storage rooms. They can be hardwired to operate on any of the voltages listed.
Lights with a solid lens are frosted and smooth or prismatic to disperse light evenly. With built-in LEDs, these lights last longer, are more efficient, and generate less heat than fluorescent lights. They emit a neutral white light often found in workspaces.
Lights with a parabolic lens are reflective to direct light downward and reduce glare. They require fluorescent bulbs (sold separately).

Wall Lights

These fixtures disperse light from the top, bottom, and side to produce ambient lighting. They mount to the wall so they're often used in enclosed spaces such as stairwells, hallways, and storage rooms. Rated for use in damp locations, these lights withstand humidity and moisture. They have built-in LEDs, which last longer, are more efficient, and generate less heat than fluorescent lights. The lens is smooth and frosted to disperse light evenly. They can be hardwired to operate on any of the voltages listed.

Wet-Location Recessed Ceiling Lights

Mount these lights flush with ceilings in wet locations—all are sealed to keep out humidity and dripping, splashing, and falling liquids. Unlike recessed can lights, which require a separate housing, these fit directly into a cutout in your ceiling and are held in place by springs. With built-in LEDs, these lights last longer, are more efficient, and generate less heat than other light technologies. Use the switch on the power supply to choose between warm, cool, or neutral light—no more mismatched lights. All have passed strict U.S. and Canadian safety standards.

Lenses for Ceiling Lights

Lenses disperse light to reduce glare and protect bulbs from damage. Cut to size using a band saw or shears.
Solid lenses keep bulbs hidden and distribute light evenly. Lenses with a prismatic or cracked ice pattern distribute light better than smooth lenses. Smooth lenses for LED lights scatter the directed light of an LED better than other solid lenses.
Egg crate and parabolic lenses have an open construction to allow more light through than solid lenses as well as more air circulation to cool bulbs. Parabolic lenses are reflective to direct light downward, which reduces glare.
Polystyrene lenses are the most economical, but they may yellow over time. Acrylic lenses won't turn yellow over time. Polycarbonate lenses are more impact-resistant than acrylic lenses, but they may yellow over time. Aluminum lenses withstand higher temperatures than plastic lenses.

Hazardous Location Recessed Wall Lights

Mount lights in recessed spaces so the lens is flush with the wall. These fixtures are ETL and C-ETL listed for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D; and Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G for use where ignitable concentrations of hazardous material occur infrequently, such as in the case of an accidental spill or failure of a ventilation system. They withstand acetylene, hydrogen, ethylene, propane, carbonaceous dusts, and nonconductive dusts. These lights are often used in freestanding buildings, such as paint spray booths, so the back opens like a door for changing light bulbs from the outside. They can be hardwired to operate on any of the voltages listed. They work with tubular fluorescent bulbs (sold separately).
