Half-Face Respirators
Upgrade your protection from disposable respirators. These respirators have a rubber mask that creates a tight seal to protect against a variety of contaminants in the air. When you inhale, air is pulled through a cartridge or filter that removes contaminants. Replace cartridges and filters when breathing becomes difficult.
To achieve the listed filter rating, you’ll need a respirator that creates a tight seal with your face—any gaps may let in contaminants. Choose a respirator that matches the style you have been fitted for.
N95 respirators filter out 95% of solid particles. They are not oil resistant.
Silicone rubber respirators are a good choice for comfort during periods of extended wear. Respirators with a speech diaphragm project your voice clearly, so you don’t need to take off your mask to talk.
