    Bolt-On Thermocouple Probes for Surfaces

Take temperature readings in high-vibration environments. These probes bolt onto motors, machines, and other equipment, so they won’t shake loose. Pick the thermocouple type that best covers the temperature range you expect your surface to be. You should also make sure the thermocouple type you choose is compatible with the device you plan to connect it to. They’re often used with temperature controllers, thermometers, and other temperature-reading devices.
These thermocouples are manufactured to conform to ASTM E230 for accuracy. Accuracy is how far off the reported value is from the actual temperature.

Wire Leads—Probes with wire leads offer more flexibility than probes with connectors already attached because you can either wire them to a terminal block or add your own connector. For installation, note that the red wire is negative.

    Terminal Blocks for Thermocouples

Image of Product. Bottom orientation. Terminal Blocks. Terminal Blocks for Thermocouples.
Unlike other terminal blocks, these blocks connect to thermocouple wire without distorting or destroying the signal. The metal in each terminal matches the metal of a specific thermocouple wire type. The ends of the blocks are labeled positive or negative so you know which end of the wire to attach.
Also known as a barrier strip, this type of terminal block has dividers to separate live wires and keep your setup tidy. Mount the blocks directly onto control panels, enclosures, and equipment. The screw-clamp terminals flatten your wire so it stays put when vibrated or pulled.

    LCD Display

Touch the tip of your soldering iron for a fast, accurate temperature reading. Within about five seconds, you'll know how hot the iron is, so you can decide whether it's ready for your particular soldering material and application.
A metal alloy coating on the sensor's contact point resists corrosion and oxidation, so your readings will stay accurate throughout the life of the thermometer. And a sensor burnout alarm alerts you when the sensor is worn out and needs to be replaced.
Press the auto hold button to smooth out small, 1° to 2° fluctuations in temperature, which can be distracting when trying to read the display. Once the thermometer has a stable reading, it displays the average temperature instead of the exact temperature.
The max hold button displays the highest measured temperature, so you know your soldering iron hasn't become too hot for the job. It's especially useful when you're soldering sensitive components, such as printed writing boards (PWBs).
Thermometers with Calibration Certificate Traceable to NIST—Some thermometers come with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST, which states that the thermometer has passed a test for accuracy.
Certification—These thermometers have three standards markings: MET, CE, and EMC. MET means they meet U.S. and Canadian performance and safety standards. CE is the marking for European performance and safety standards. And EMC markings indicate the thermometers meet European standards for electromagnetic compatibility.
