    Tight-Tolerance Air-Hardening A2 Tool Steel Rods

Image of Product. Front orientation. Steel. Tight-Tolerance Air-Hardening A2 Tool Steel Rods.
Precision ground and held to a strict straightness tolerance, these rods are ready for turning in your lathe. Also known as drill rod, this A2 tool steel is more wear resistant than O1 and keeps a sharper cutting edge. It’s air-hardening, so it doesn’t require baths or quenching after heat treatment. This tool steel is often used for punches, blades, and hammers.

Press these electrodes onto the tips of spot welders to change the size and shape of your weld. Their shank is tapered for easy press-fit installation.
Pointed Tip—Pointed tip electrodes are the most common electrodes. All are good for most applications, including small welds.
Flat Tip—Flat tip electrodes create larger welds than pointed electrodes and are best when the weld appearance is less important.
Offset Tip—Those with offset tips are best for spot welding near edges and corners.

A two-part alternative to standard electrodes, these electrodes reduce waste since you can reuse the shank. For a complete electrode, you'll need a tip and a shank (both sold separately). Press complete electrodes onto the tips of spot welders to change the size and shape of your weld. When the tip becomes worn, only the tip needs to be replaced.
Pointed Tip—Pointed tip electrodes are the most common. They’re good for most applications, including small welds.
Flat Tip—Flat tip electrodes create larger welds than pointed tips and are best when the weld appearance is less important.
Female—When used with water-cooled spot welders, female tips are less likely to spill water than male tips when swapping them out.

    Tight-Tolerance Ultra-Heat-Resistant M42 High-Speed Tool Steel Rods

Image of Product. Front orientation. Steel. Tight-Tolerance Ultra-Heat-Resistant M42 High-Speed Tool Steel Rods.
Machine saw blades, end mills, and other cutting tools that stay hard and sharp at top speeds and temperatures. M42 runs faster and hotter than other grades of high-speed tool steel, so it slices through material as tough as titanium without softening or wearing down. Precision ground and held to a strict tightness tolerance, this steel is all set to turn in your lathe. Also known as cobalt steel.
