Lightweight Low-Stretch Grip-Tight Rope—Not for Lifting

Made of a polyester/polypropylene blend, this rope is approximately 15% lighter than standard polyester rope. Use it for applications that require minimal stretch, such as in tie-down applications. It resists UV rays, rot, oil, and gas, and will not lose strength when wet. The twisted construction gives it a grooved surface, allowing you to grip it tight without it slipping.

A braided nylon core protected by a braided cover makes this rope resistant to both wear and sudden forces, such as those found in towing applications and dock lines. Nylon-covered rope resists mildew.
Polyester-covered rope resists UV rays, oil, and gas.

Rope with Eye on Both Ends—Not for Lifting

Use in noncritical applications, such as fencing, where the strength of a forged clamp is not required. Install clamps so the saddle is on the long (live) end and the U-bolt is on the short (dead) end. They’re also known as wire rope clips.
Zinc-plated iron clamps are mildly corrosion resistant.
Galvanized iron clamps have a thicker coating than zinc-plated clamps for added corrosion resistance.
18-8 stainless steel clamps are more corrosion resistant than galvanized clamps.

Wedge-Lock Wire Rope End Fittings—For Lifting


Also known as open wedge sockets, these end fittings require only a torque wrench to install. To install, wrap the wire rope around the removable wedge before securing it inside the body. A wire rope clamp attached through the top hole in the wedge secures the short (dead) end.
Two additional holes at the bottom of the wedge can be used as a "go/no go" gauge to determine the proper rope size. The wire rope should pass through the "go" hole and not through the "no go" hole.
Warning: Fittings must match rope diameter and be installed correctly to obtain maximum holding power. Test all assemblies for required strength before use. Do not use with coated rope unless the coating is removed.

Wire Rope Cutting Bands

Also known as seizing bands, these prevent fraying while cutting wire rope. Wrap the band around the wire rope and squeeze the flat end into the indented end. The cut should be made in the middle of the band.

Abrasion-Resistant Elastic Cord

Also known as bungee cord and shock cord, a fabric cover protects the inner elastic from abrasion. Use cord by itself or add fittings to create a complete tie down. It stretches up to 1.5 times its length.

Salt-Water-Resistant Elastic Cord

Suitable for marine environments, this cord has a nylon cover to resist corrosion from salt water and chlorine. Use cord by itself or add hooks to create a complete tie down. It stretches up 1.5 times its length.

UV-Resistant Elastic Cord

This cord won't become brittle or hard after exposure to sunlight. Also known as bungee cord and shock cord, a polypropylene cover protects the inner elastic from abrasion. Use by itself or add fittings to create a complete tie down. It stretches up to 1.5 times its length.

Long-Lasting Polyurethane Tie Downs with Slotted Straps


Adjust the length by attaching the hook into a slot in the strap. With the strength of plastic and the stretch of rubber, these tie downs have excellent stretch recovery and won't become brittle. They stand up to oil, grease, fuel, ozone, and salt water.
Plastic hooks are nonmarring.

These slings are more abrasion and cut resistant than web and round slings, yet lighter in weight than mesh and chain slings. They include a tag that shows capacities in each configuration.
Crimped eye slings are secured with a metal sleeve.
Crimped and reinforced thimble eye slings have a thimble on the inside of the loops to prevent fraying. Loops are secured with a metal sleeve.
