Rotary Electric Actuators with Automated Controls
With a stepper motor and driver built in, these actuators come ready to use for clamping, sorting, and ejecting tasks. Their stepper motor is a bipolar hybrid, so it's precise enough to position your actuator in the right spot and efficient enough that you won't lose torque. They have integrated controls for quick and easy setup, or you can program start and end positions and track usage remotely using digital IO. Compared to air-powered systems, these actuators have fewer parts to repair and replace.
Actuators with a shaft rotation of 0° to 90° accelerate up to their prescribed speed at a faster rate than actuators with a shaft rotation of 0° to 180°.

Multi-Axis Stepper Motor Actuators
Precisely drive both linear and rotary motion from one compact system. Often found in pick-and-place equipment, these actuators have two stepper motors. Each stepper motor drives one type of motion, and you can control them separately. When stopped, they hold their position even when a counteracting force is applied to the load.
Actuators with an encoder are useful in applications where relative positioning is critical, such as coordinating motion between multiple actuators. The encoder monitors the position of the actuator and reports back to a controller (not included), which adjusts or stops the shaft if it isn’t in the right place.
To confirm which actuator will work for your application, click on a part number and select "Product Detail" to view the torque-speed curve and dynamic load-speed chart. Holding torque is the force needed to move the actuator out of position when it’s stationary. When the actuator is rotating, torque generally decreases as speed increases. Dynamic load capacity is the maximum load an actuator can move linearly. If you increase the speed, the dynamic load capacity decreases.
Travel distance per full step determines the control you have over the actuator's linear positioning. The smaller the measurement, the finer positioning control you have, but the more steps it will take to go the same distance.
Full step increment refers to how much the actuator rotates when it takes a full step. A smaller full step increment means the rotor has more teeth, producing smoother and more precise motion. 1.8° is considered standard.
All actuators require a controller and two motor drivers (not included).

Rotary Clamping Air Cylinders
Clamp items in place to complete a step in your manufacturing process. These air cylinders rotate while actuating, so you can position, assemble, and inspect items. The body of these air cylinders has threaded through-holes on the face and sides, so you can mount them directly to equipment and thread accessories on. The rod is internally threaded, allowing you to attach an arm as needed for your application.
The piston is magnetic, so you can use these slides with sensors (not included) to activate relays and controllers. When the piston moves past a sensor, the sensor activates. You can use multiple sensors—one for each action you want to trigger.

Adjustable-Angle Rotary Air Actuators
Turn the adjustment bolt on these actuators to set the rotation you need for your application. Powered by compressed air, they create rotary movement. They’re great for moving and positioning in pick-and place operations and for controlling flow in a system by opening and closing a valve. These actuators are double acting, so they use air to exert force in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions.
Attach a sensor (sold separately) to monitor position and activate relays and controllers.
304 stainless steel actuators withstand corrosive environments better than aluminum actuators. When you first set them up, attach a flow control valve to adjust the flow of compressed air.

Adjustable-Angle Compact Rotary Air Actuators
When you want to control the angle of your shaft’s rotation and are tight on space, choose these rotary air actuators. They’re our smallest rotary actuator, with only one internal moving part. Set the rotation angle you need by turning the adjustment bolts. Powered by compressed air, they rotate components in automated systems.
