    Easy-Carry Long Tape Measures

    A favorite among surveyors, these tape measures have a large, rubber-coated handle for a comfortable grip when trekking long distances. Choose them for outdoor and dirty jobs—an open case lets dirt, sand, and other debris fall away, so they won’t clog up the reel. Their blade extends 50 ft. or farther, long enough to measure a semi-trailer.
    Automatic Blade Lock—Extend the blade and it locks in place automatically. These tape measures are especially useful for solo jobs since they free up your hands for other tasks.
    Coated Steel Blade—When accuracy is crucial, choose steel. These blades stay stiff when extended and won't stretch over time if pulled too hard. They also keep their shape if dragged over rough surfaces, such as concrete. A coating prevents the graduations from wearing or scratching off.
    Coated Fiberglass Blade—These blades bend without breaking, so they're best for measuring curved surfaces, such as silos. The choice for wet environments, they won't rust from water. They also won't conduct electricity when working near conduit and powerlines. A coating prevents the graduations from wearing or scratching off.
