Shorter and thinner than other safety limit switches, these are sized to fit tight spaces. They protect machinery and ensure the safety of personnel. Positive-force contacts open the circuit when actuated, even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. They send a signal to your circuit when an object hits the actuator—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor. They open and close circuits as fast as snap-acting switches, but they have a bigger actuator for large objects. All are NEMA and IP rated for protection from washdowns.
Plunger Actuator—Switches with a plunger actuator require a push to actuate, similar to a button.
Roller Plunger Actuator—Switches with a roller plunger actuator have a roller that moves parallel to the mounting direction when an object pushes the actuator. This reduces friction during actuation to limit wear and tear on your switch.
Roller Lever Actuator—Switches with a roller lever actuator use a lever with a roller at the end to activate. This allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction, limiting wear and tear.
Rod Actuator—Switches with a rod actuator have a large actuation area with a rod extending out of the actuator’s body. They’re best where the object actuating the switch is far away.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. The actuator won’t snap if pushed backward, such as if there’s a jam in your system.
Styles E and F—Styles E and F have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align the switch with the target during installation.
NEMA 13 Enclosure Rating and IP67 Enclosure Rating—NEMA 13 and IP67 rated switches are protected from oil/coolant spraying and temporary submersion.

Protect machinery and ensure the safety of personnel—these switches have positive-force contacts that will open the circuit when actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. When an object in motion comes into contact with the actuator, it sends a signal to open or close a circuit. These switches have the rapid-closing action of a snap-acting switch, but with a larger actuator. This makes them a good choice for use with large objects—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor.
This allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction, limiting wear and tear on your switch.
Rod Actuator—Switches with a rod actuator use a rod extending out of the body to actuate, so they’ll activate even if an object is far away.
Wobble Stick Actuator—Switches with a wobble stick actuator have an arm that rotates 360°, so you don’t need to align it in a specific direction. Since the actuator is flexible, it won’t snap if pushed backward. That makes these switches a great choice for systems that get jammed often.
Styles D-F—Styles D, E, and F have an actuator that allows you to adjust its height, making it easier to align switch with the target during installation.
Plastic Actuator—Switches with a plastic actuator limit wear and tear on passing objects better than switches with a steel actuator.
Steel Actuator—Switches with a steel actuator are more durable than switches with a plastic actuator. They also handle higher loads.

Also known as interlock switches, these ensure the safety of personnel by automatically shutting off power to machinery when an access door opens. Mount the switch to the door frame and mount a key to the door so that the key is inserted into the switch when the door is closed. When the door opens, the key is removed from the switch and the machine shuts down. They’re often used with machine guards for large robots.
Styles A-G—Style A-G switches have positive-force, normally closed contacts that will open a circuit when the switch is actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick.
Style J—Style J switches have extra safety controls to prevent you from getting trapped next to running machinery. They actuate with the turn of a portable key. Bring the key when you enter an enclosure to ensure machinery won’t start while you’re inside, even if the door closes behind you. As an added fail-safe, a rear release button lets you cut power from inside of enclosures if needed. These switches have light-up indicators that show when they're properly installed and whether they're actuated.
IP67 Enclosure Rating—IP67 rated switches protect against temporary submersion.
NEMA 4 Enclosure Rating—NEMA 4 rated switches protect against washdowns.
NEMA 6 Enclosure Rating—NEMA 6 rated switches protect against both temporary submersion and washdowns.
Key Included—All switches require an actuator key, but not all include one—check whether you need to pick out a separate actuator key. For some switch styles, you can also select the mounting orientation of the key.

Prevent equipment from automatically restarting—these switches must be manually reset each time they're actuated. Pull the knob to reset. Positive-force contacts open the circuit when actuated, even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. These switches send a signal to your circuit when an object hits the actuator—for instance, a box on a conveyor runs into the switch, stopping the conveyor. They open and close circuits as fast as snap-acting switches, but they have a bigger actuator for large objects.
Rated IP67, these switches seal out water if they’re washed down or briefly submersed.
Style B—Style B have a roller lever actuator that allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction.
Style C—Style C have a roller lever actuator that allows parts to glide across the actuation surface with minimal friction. You can also adjust the actuator's height, making it easier to align the switch with the target during installation.

    Actuator

The convenient, modern alternative to mechanical safety switches. These RFID switches are easier to install, fit a wider range of access points, and can mount horizontally. Since they don't need a traditional key to actuate, they work even if the switch and actuator are slightly misaligned. Also known as interlock switches, they shut off power to equipment as soon as you open the barrier, which disconnects the RFID signal. These switches are often used with small machines. Find them anywhere from a CNC machine’s window to a packaging machine’s service panel. Mount the switch on the frame and the actuator on the barrier. Rated IP67 and IP69K, these switches are protected against temporary submersion and high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns.
Magnetic Latch—Switches with a magnetic latch help prevent a barrier from opening by accident, such as from light bumps and low vibrations. The magnet keeps the actuator and switch from separating.
Number of Safety Outputs—The number of safety outputs, also known as output signal switching devices (OSSDs), tells you how many machines you can control. Each output has a pair of signals that shut down a single machine—if one signal fails, the other takes over as a failsafe.

Prevent accidental bumps or vibration from triggering these safety switches unnecessarily—a strong magnet maintains the RFID signal between the actuator and switch until it's intentionally opened. Also known as interlock switches, they automatically cut power when you open an access door, interrupting the signal, then restore power when the door is closed, and the switch and actuator meet. They're designed to mount on a frame and a door, gate, or window. Use them in many ways—from turning off a machine-operated saw when you open the protective window to powering down robotic arms when someone enters the partitioned area. The LED indicator shows that your switch is on and whether it’s actuated.
Unique RFID Code—Switches with a unique RFID code are only compatible with their own actuator, so they’re difficult to tamper with.
IP67 Enclosure Rating—IP67 rated switches protect against temporary submersion.
IP69K Enclosure Rating—IP69K rated switches protect against high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns.

Delay access to hazardous areas until conditions are safe; use these switches with machines that take time to stop after they are turned off. Mount the switch to the door frame and mount the key to the door so that the key is inserted into the switch when the door is closed. When the door is pulled, the key is held in place with 225 lbs. of force until the switch receives a signal from a time-delay relay, motion sensor, or position sensor (not included) that the machine’s motion has stopped. After the motion has stopped, the key can be removed from the switch, releasing the access door. They’re often used with machine guards. All have positive-force, normally-closed contacts that will open a circuit when the switch is actuated even if a spring fails or the contacts stick. They’re rated for protection from washdowns and temporary submersion.
Styles A and B—Style A and B have a key entry on the top and side of the switch.
Style C—Style C has a key entry on two opposite sides of the switch.

Block access to machinery while it's running. These safety switches cut power when their signal disconnects, shutting off equipment as you open machine guards. They link to a single actuator, so no other RFID tag or card can interfere. The unique RFID code means that once the power is cut, no one can bypass the switch and restart equipment while the guard is open.
These switches are often used with small machines where there’s no risk of the barrier closing on its own. Find them anywhere from a CNC machine’s window to a machine-operated saw’s service panel. Mount the switch on the frame and the actuator on the barrier. They're also known as interlock switches. Rated IP67 and IP69K, these switches are protected against temporary submersion and high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns.
