    Sanding Belts for Aluminum, Soft Metals, and Nonmetals

    One of the sharpest abrasives, the silicon carbide on these belts sands soft metals and nonmetals like aluminum and rubber with ease, and it generates minimal heat to prevent material buildup. These belts have a slick coating that prevents dust and debris from building up on the abrasive surface. The coating also helps keep operating temperature down to reduce wear of the abrasive.     Made of nylon mesh, these belts compensate for uneven sanding pressure to create a smooth, consistent finish on workpieces. Silicon carbide—one of the sharpest abrasives—is embedded in the mesh, so these belts sand quickly with light pressure. They stay cool while sanding, which keeps material from building up on the surface. These belts are very fine grade, so they’re best for removing light scratches, polishing, and preparing surfaces for painting.
