    Sanding Belts

Smooth or shape work surfaces. Good for general purpose sanding, the aluminum oxide abrasive on these belts is tough and won’t crack under stress. These belts are often used to remove rust and paint from steel or wood surfaces. Thanks to their cloth backing, they’re flexible yet resistant to tearing. Long-Life Sanding Belts for Stainless Steel and Hard Metals

These belts last at least 50% longer and sand faster than standard ceramic alumina belts. The specially engineered grit stays cool while cutting, which prevents dulling. It's sharp and dense enough to shape hard metals such as stainless steel, nickel, and cast iron. Ceramic alumina grit continually fractures to produce new, sharp cutting edges. It sands faster and lasts longer than aluminum oxide but requires more force to abrade properly. A slick coating on these belts prevents debris from accumulating on the abrasive surface and keeps operating temperatures low. They also resist deterioration when used with water or cutting fluids. Uniform-Finish Sanding Belts

Multiple layers of abrasive arranged in a pattern create highly consistent finishes. The most common abrasive for general sanding, aluminum oxide is tough and won’t crack under high stress. Use these belts for removing paint and rust to final finishing. A cloth backing makes these belts flexible yet resistant to tearing.

Sanding Belts for Stainless Steel and Hard Metals

Dense and hard, the ceramic alumina abrasive on these belts removes material faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide abrasives. The grit particles break apart as you sand, constantly forming the sharp edges needed to smooth stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard metals. A slick coating keeps the surface of these belts from getting clogged with dust and debris, so they stay cool while you sand. Made from cloth, the backing is flexible and difficult to tear. Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Sanding Belts. Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts.
When you need to achieve a more consistent finish, choose nylon mesh sanding belts over paper- or cloth-backed belts. The mesh flexes to compensate for uneven sanding pressure as you sand. It's embedded with aluminum oxide, the most common abrasive, which is hard enough to sand steel and wood. These belts resist deterioration when used with water or cutting fluids.
Coarse Grade—Coarse grade is for deburring and removing heavy rust and surface imperfections.
Medium Grade—Medium grade is for light cleaning and blending.
Very-Fine Grade—Very fine grade is for removing fine scratch marks and lines, final finishing, polishing, and preparing surfaces for painting.

    Cushioned Sanding Belts

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Sanding Belts. Cushioned Sanding Belts.
Create finer and more consistent finishes—these belts have a cushioned layer that creates more even sanding pressure on your workpiece. They also have a slick coating that prevents debris from accumulating on the abrasive surface and keeps operating temperatures low.
Aluminum Oxide Abrasive—Aluminum oxide is the most common abrasive for general sanding. It’s tough and won't crack under stress. Less sharp than silicon carbide, it takes longer to abrade.
Silicon Carbide Abrasive—One of the sharpest abrasives, silicon carbide cuts through steel and wood with ease. It costs less than zirconia alumina but will not last as long.
