    Sanding Belts

Smooth or shape work surfaces. Good for general purpose sanding, the aluminum oxide abrasive on these belts is tough and won’t crack under stress. These belts are often used to remove rust and paint from steel or wood surfaces. Thanks to their cloth backing, they’re flexible yet resistant to tearing. Long-Life Water-Resistant Sanding Belts

Change your sanding belts less often—these belts have a zirconia alumina abrasive that continuously fractures to form new sharp edges. These self-sharpening edges are great for aggressively removing material on steel and wood. Compared to aluminum oxide sanding belts, these belts sand faster and last longer. Water and cutting fluids won’t break down or soften these belts. A cloth backing makes them flexible yet resistant to tearing. Note: click on a part number to view a volume discount (if applicable).

Long-Life Sanding Belts for Stainless Steel and Hard Metals

These belts last at least 50% longer and sand faster than standard ceramic alumina belts. The specially engineered grit stays cool while cutting, which prevents dulling. It's sharp and dense enough to shape hard metals such as stainless steel, nickel, and cast iron. Ceramic alumina grit continually fractures to produce new, sharp cutting edges. It sands faster and lasts longer than aluminum oxide but requires more force to abrade properly. A slick coating on these belts prevents debris from accumulating on the abrasive surface and keeps operating temperatures low. They also resist deterioration when used with water or cutting fluids. Sanding Belts for Aluminum, Soft Metals, and Nonmetals

One of the sharpest abrasives, the silicon carbide on these belts sands soft metals and nonmetals like aluminum and rubber with ease, and it generates minimal heat to prevent material buildup. These belts have a slick coating that prevents dust and debris from building up on the abrasive surface. The coating also helps keep operating temperature down to reduce wear of the abrasive. Uniform-Finish Clog-Resistant Sanding Belts

Like tank treads, these belts have wide gaps to collect and channel away debris as they turn. Multiple layers of abrasive arranged in a brick pattern create highly consistent finishes. The layers contain up to four times as much abrasive material as other sanding belts, so they last longer.
The most common abrasive material, aluminum oxide is hard enough to sand most materials. It costs less than zirconia alumina but wears down faster.

Sanding Belts for Stainless Steel and Hard Metals

Dense and hard, the ceramic alumina abrasive on these belts removes material faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide abrasives. The grit particles break apart as you sand, constantly forming the sharp edges needed to smooth stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard metals. A slick coating keeps the surface of these belts from getting clogged with dust and debris, so they stay cool while you sand. Made from cloth, the backing is flexible and difficult to tear. Clog-Resistant Sanding Belts

Avoid clogs when you're removing paint or rust. The widely spaced grains on these belts give dust and debris a place to collect so they won't build up on the belt’s surface. They use aluminum oxide, the most common abrasive for general sanding. It’s tough and won’t crack under high stress. With a cloth backing, these belts are flexible yet resistant to tearing.

    Fast-Cutting Sanding Belts

Sanding belts with ceramic alumina abrade hard metals like stainless steel because of their sharp, outwardly pointed grit. The grain particles continually fracture to produce new, sharp cutting edges while maintaining their specially engineered points and angle. The design also reduces heat generation while sanding, which prevents the grit from wearing down. These belts are also good for sanding steel and soft metals.

    Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts

Image of Product. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Sanding Belts. Nylon Mesh Cushioned Sanding Belts.
When you need to achieve a more consistent finish, choose nylon mesh sanding belts over paper- or cloth-backed belts. The mesh flexes to compensate for uneven sanding pressure as you sand. It's embedded with aluminum oxide, the most common abrasive, which is hard enough to sand steel and wood. These belts resist deterioration when used with water or cutting fluids.

Create finer and more consistent finishes—these belts have a cushioned layer that creates more even sanding pressure on your workpiece. They also have a slick coating that prevents debris from accumulating on the abrasive surface and keeps operating temperatures low.
