Washdown Go/No-Go Bench-Top Scales

Check for quality and consistency among packages, parts, and other objects in areas that are frequently washed down. These scales are IP and NEMA rated, so they seal out water and dust. Also known as check weighers, they alert you when items are outside of a set weight range. The stack light uses three colored lights: one for too heavy, one for too light, and one for when items are good to go. An audible alarm also signals when items are outside your weight standard. Exact measurements appear on a bright, backlit LCD display. Mount the display to the included column to position it where it’s easiest to see.
Press the tare button to reset these scales to zero when using a container to hold small items. To print or transfer data to a computer, connect an RS-232 computer cord (not included) to the scale's DB9 port.

Washdown Legal-for-Trade Bench-Top Scales

IP rated for washdowns and use in dusty and wet environments, these scales are NTEP approved to weigh materials that are sold by weight. All have a check weighing mode that alerts you when items fall outside a set weight range, an accumulation weighing mode to keep a running total of all the items you’ve weighed, and a tare function that resets the scale to zero after placing a container on the platform. A large LCD display with a touch keypad makes it easy to read and select measurements, even when wearing goggles and gloves.
When powered by batteries, IP65-rated scales are dust-tight and can be hosed down. They should not, however, get wet when they’re plugged in. Scales with a 10-lb. capacity or lower are better for measuring lighter loads more precisely than our scales with higher capacities.

Washdown Legal-for-Trade Digital Hanging Scales
Often used to weigh materials sold by weight in harsh conditions, these NTEP-approved scales have an aluminum enclosure that meets IP65 and NEMA 4 for protection from dirt and washdowns. They come with a certificate of calibration traceable to NIST that states they've passed a test for accuracy. The tare function lets you reset the scale to zero after hanging a container on the hook. Scales operate on the included AC adapter or the included rechargeable battery.

Legal-for-Trade Inline Conveyor Scales
Weigh boxes as they flow through your conveyor line to reduce bending and lifting. These scales integrate seamlessly into your line thanks to their conveyor rollers or ball transfers, which move boxes along after weighing. A check-weighing mode flags boxes that are outside a specified weight range. And a weight accumulation mode keeps a running weight of all boxes measured. These scales are National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) approved for use with legal-for-trade materials sold by weight.
Mount the display in front of the scale, on a nearby wall, or use the included stand to mount it above the scale. 1" digits are easy to read from a distance. These scales are rated IP65 for protection from dust and low-pressure washdowns. They plug into a standard outlet or run on the rechargeable battery for up to 72 hours. Transmit data to your PC by connecting the scale with an RS-232 computer cord (not included).
Roller conveyor scales are for straight-path flows.
Ball transfer conveyor scales receive and divert boxes in multiple directions.
For temporary jobs, set your scale on a cart (sold separately), then roll it up to your conveyor or workbench. Two of the casters are lockable, so the cart stays in place during longer jobs or when used in a conveyor line.

Remote-Reading Tension Force Gauges

Safely view your tension force measurements on a handheld receiver up to 450 ft. away when moving bulk material with cranes and hoists. These gauges are also called dynamometers and crane scales. Made of steel, they’re durable enough to briefly hold heavy loads up to 500% of their capacity. But, they will no longer take measurements if the load exceeds 200%. Warning lights will flash first when your load exceeds capacity, then again when it reaches 133% capacity. To prevent overloads, the peak-hold setting displays the highest measurement. The tare function lets you reset the gauge to zero after attaching a container to weigh only the material inside. These gauges include a calibration certificate traceable to NIST that states they’ve passed a test for accuracy. They also meet IEC and ASME safety and fatigue standards.
Because their indicators and load cells are IP rated, these gauges stand up to washdowns and brief submersion common to food and chemical plants. They’re also safe to use outdoors since they’re NEMA rated to seal out weather.
These gauges come with two shackles that work with other lifting fittings, such as clevis hooks. The included batteries power their load cells for up to 2,000 hours.

Configurable Tension and Compression Force Sensors
Calibrate these sensors to your desired capacity to measure tension, compression, or both. Also known as load cells, they measure and track the forces of your equipment by converting them into electrical signals. Send these signals to your computer or programmable logic controller (PLC) to monitor, document, and trigger actions in your machinery.
When choosing a sensor, consider whether you’ll be measuring tension, compression, or both. Select sensors with a capacity rating higher than the greatest load you expect them to receive. They’re designed to briefly handle forces 1.5 times their load capacity to protect from overload. Choose between a rectangle, round, or S-shape sensor to best suit your application.
IP-rated sensors seal out dust. IP65 sensors stand up to splashing water.
For technical drawings and 3-D models, click on a part number.

Rectangle sensors are also known as single-point or shear beam load cells. They can be used in multiples across surfaces to measure uneven loads. They’re often used in bench-top and floor scales where loads are often unbalanced. They’re also used in packaging, machine bins, conveyors, and chutes.

Ready-to-Use Tension and Compression Force Sensor Kits

With a sensor that’s already calibrated and everything you need to relay data, these kits come ready to operate. Use them to measure forces in equipment and send the data directly to a computer or programmable logic controller (PLC) to monitor, document, and trigger actions in machinery. They’re also used as the foundation within custom-built scales and force gauges, and to measure force in crash tests and other quality control processes. These sensors are also known as load cells.

PC connection kits link to a computer, tablet, or LCD display. All include a calibrated force sensor, a data conversion hub, and data-recording software. The conversion hub turns electrical signals from the sensor into usable force measurements. The software plots and analyzes measurements, so you can track high, low, and average values over time. It can also set off connected alarms or notify you when readings fall outside a set range. Export the data to Microsoft Excel and other analytical software such as MATLAB and LabVIEW. Wired PC connection kits come with a 6-ft. hub-to-PC USB cord.

Digital displays (sold separately) show the force applied to sensors as a weight measurement. They wire directly to your sensor and you can attach up to eight sensors at once.
Connection hubs (sold separately) bring multiple sensors together to create a single system. They’re often used in platform or hopper scales when multiple sensors need to work together to give a total weight reading.

Coolant-Resistant Electronic Depth Micrometers
Take depth measurements in dirty machining environments. These micrometers are rated IP65, so they seal out oil, water, and dust. They come with multiple extension rods that you can swap out depending on the depth of your holes, slots, shoulders, or projections. They have a ratchet-stop thimble with a speeder knob to reduce the time it takes to open and close the micrometer. For repeatable measurements, the thimble stops turning once the spindle reaches your part to prevent overtightening. However, the speeder knob will continue to turn with a clicking sound. These micrometers have zero-position memory, also known as absolute (ABS) positioning, so they retain the measuring position after you turn the micrometer off. A zero-set button lets you start measuring at any point.
USB data cables (sold separately) connect the micrometer directly to your PC.
Wireless data transmitters and receivers (both sold separately) allow you to send measurement data from a micrometer to your PC without being tethered by a cable.
