Stainless Steel Torx Plus Rounded Head Thread-Forming Screws for Plastic

Tri-Lobe Shank Cross

Section

Neither moisture nor a heavy hand can damage these screws. The deep, six-lobe recess withstands even more torque than a Torx drive to prevent slipping as you install screws in plastic. They press threads into molded or cast holes and won’t crack or distort the material. Use them to fasten plastic components, enclosures, and panels. The rounded head creates a finished look.

18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these screws resist rust. However, they won't hold up to the harsh chemicals that 316 stainless steel can.

Tri-Lobe—The tri-lobular shank forms threads in thermoplastics such as polypropylene and ABS. These screws displace material to create a tight fit that resists vibration and prevents backing out. Because the shank isn’t round, the diameter will vary slightly depending on where you measure it. Also known as Plastite® screws.

Torx Plus Bits

Hex Shank

With larger lobes than Torx bits, these deliver even more torque without slipping and stripping the drive. They have a similar profile to Torx but are not recommended for use with standard Torx screws.

Hex Shank—Also known as insert bits, these snap into hand tools. If you want to use them with power tools, attach a bit adapter (not included).

Quick-Change Hex Shank—Lock these bits directly into power tools. They won't wobble as much as bits paired with an adapter, so they are the best choice for high-precision tasks.

Steel—Best for dry environments, since moisture will cause these bits to rust.
