    Non-Hardening Thread Sealants with PTFE

Image of Product. Front orientation. Thread Sealants. Non-Hardening Thread Sealants with PTFE, Applicator-Top Can.

    Applicator-Top Can

PTFE provides a slippery surface that keeps threads from binding. These sealants never fully harden, remaining pliable enough to self-heal and stop leaks before they start, so they’re often used in high-vibration applications that could cause standard thread sealants to fail. Since they have low locking strength, these sealants can be adjusted without tools.
Gasoila—Gasoila sealants are designed specifically to resist gasoline and fuel oils, making them best for motors, nozzles, pump assemblies, and fuel lines.
NSF/ANSI 61—Sealants that meet NSF/ANSI 61 adhere to safety standards for drinking water systems.
VOC-Free—VOC-free sealants won’t harm the environment and comply with LEED Green Building standards. VOC stands for volatile organic compound.
Cannot Be Sold To—VOC regulations restrict sales of sealants that cannot be sold to the listed jurisdictions/areas.

    Mildew-Resistant Silicone Rubber Sealants

Resistant to mold and mildew, these sealants are well suited to high-humidity environments. They’re non-sagging, so they won't drip from vertical and overhead surfaces. Made from silicone rubber, sealants are RTV (room-temperature vulcanizing).
Elongation and joint compression/expansion tolerance indicate flexibility—the higher the values are, the more joint movement sealants can sustain. Sealants that are good for joining dissimilar materials also work well in environments with wide temperature fluctuation.

    High-Temperature Thread Sealants

Image of Product. Front orientation. Thread Sealants. High-Temperature Thread Sealants.
These sealants have high locking strength, so they work in demanding applications, such as securing mounting studs in motor housings. They also withstand applications with large temperature swings.
Heat—Heat cure sealant requires heat of at least 212° F to harden. Above 300° F, the sealant hardens in about 15 minutes. For temperatures below 300° F, it may take up to 4 hours to harden. It requires both heat and a hand tool to unthread.
1,500° F Maximum Temperature—1500° F max. temp. sealants are for use on cement-lined pipe joints prior to welding. The heat from the welding torch helps them begin to harden.

Tested to meet ASTM E595, a standard used by NASA, these sealants fill joints and seams while releasing almost no volatile emissions that could damage sensitive electronics, even in a vacuum. Made of silicone rubber, they’re RTV (room-temperature vulcanizing), so they’ll fully harden at room temperature.
Elongation indicates flexibility—the higher the value is, the more a sealant can stretch.
Begins to Harden in 26 min.—Sealants that begin to harden in 26 min. are less likely to trap contaminants than those that take longer to harden.
