    Plug

    Use these sensors to sense objects in volatile areas. Intrinsically safe, they produce a NAMUR signal, which operates at a low current and voltage, so they won’t ignite or create sparks in hazardous locations. They are ATEX and IECEx internationally certified to protect against explosion in environments containing flammable gases and combustible dust. Sensors must be connected to the required barriers (sold separately), which reduce the current and voltage coming from your power source. Unlike the sensors, however, the barriers must be located in a separate nonhazardous area.
    Also known as inductive proximity sensors, these sensors detect metallic objects—even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Send their signal to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automated processes. Sensors meet various domestic and international safety standards.

    IP67 Enclosure Rating—All sensors seal out dust. Sensors rated IP67 can be submerged for up to 30 minutes.
    IP66 Enclosure Rating—All sensors seal out dust. IP66 rated sensors protect against high-volume washdowns.
    IP68 Enclosure Rating—All sensors seal out dust. IP68 rated sensors can be submerged for more than 30 minutes.
    Flush Mount—Flush sensors, also known as embeddable or shielded sensors, can be mounted so that the sensor face is level with the surface of any material, including metal. They’re more accurate than projecting sensors at close range and can be mounted close together without causing interference.
    Projecting Mount—Projecting sensors, also known as non-embeddable or unshielded sensors, must be mounted with the area around the sensor face free of metal. They have a longer sensing distance than flush sensors.
    Plug In—Sensors with a 4-pole M12 plug connect to NAMUR cables with a connector (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.

These sensors have the same high sensing distance for all metals. Because of this, they’re often used for detecting weaker metals, such as tin and aluminum, in the food and beverage industry. The larger the size, the greater the sensing distance. Send their signal to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automated processes within your system. All of these sensors are rated IP67, so they stand up to dust and brief submersion. They meet various domestic and international safety standards.

    Twist the sensor to detect metallic objects where explosive dust or gas may be present—the sensor rotates for front, side, top, or bottom sensing. These sensors are UL and C-UL listed as well as ATEX and IECEx certified for hazardous locations. Their NAMUR signal produces low current and low voltage, so they won’t spark or ignite. You must connect them to a barrier (sold separately), which reduces the current and voltage that enters your hazardous area.
    Because you can rotate the sensor, these make good replacements for limit switches with actuators that could break when hit. They’re often known as inductive proximity sensors and detect objects even if they’re covered by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the type of material that’s sensed; the distance listed is for mild steel. Send signals from these sensors to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automated processes.
    These sensors have a 4-pole M12 plug that connects to cables with a socket (sold separately), so you can quickly connect and disconnect them. You can also check on them from any angle, thanks to LED status indicators on their corners. All are CE marked for safety.

    IP67 Enclosure Rating and IP68 Enclosure Rating—IP67- and IP68-rated sensors withstand some submersion.
    Flush Mount—Flush sensors, also called embeddable and shielded sensors, are more accurate than projecting sensors at close range. They also won’t interfere with each other’s signals when installed close together. Their sensor face mounts evenly with any material, including metal.
    Projecting Mount—Projecting sensors, also known as non-embeddable and unshielded sensors, sense objects farther away than flush sensors. But, the area around the sensor must be metal free.

    Support flow and temperature control in your system with these intrinsically safe sensors, which sense when a valve is open or closed in volatile areas. Often used in chemical plants and oil and gas facilities, they are ATEX and IECEx internationally certified to protect against explosion where flammable gases and combustible dust are present.
    Mount the sensor to your valve actuator, and affix a corresponding activator (sold separately) onto your actuator’s shaft. As the valve opens and closes, the activator rotates until its targets align with the two inductive sensors. Once they’re aligned, your system will know that the valve is either open or closed—providing reliable feedback on your valve’s position. These sensors have a 4-pole M12 plug to connect to NAMUR cables (sold separately), letting you quickly connect and disconnect the sensor from your equipment. Connect them to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automated processes. Sensors meet various national and international safety standards, and they’re rated IP67 to protect against dust, washdowns, and temporary submersion.
