Steel Snap-In Nuts

Snap these nuts—also known as cage nuts—into square holes in thin material. They’re often used to mount servers and other equipment in electronics racks. Threads float inside the cage, so you can fasten a bolt at a slight angle to align off-center parts. Mounting legs expand to lock these nuts in place.
Install these nuts by hand, with pliers, or with a snap-in nut installation and removal tool.
Black-phosphate steel nuts are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.
Zinc-plated steel nuts resist corrosion in wet environments.

No-Slip Clip-On Barrel Nuts

These clip-on nuts have a barrel with multiple threads for secure thread engagement. Also known as U-nuts, they squeeze both sides of thin panels for a tighter grip than J-nuts.

Clip-On Nuts

Because one leg is shorter than the other, you can adjust the position of these nuts before you insert a machine screw. Also known as J-nuts, they have a slightly looser fit on thin panels than U-nuts. These nuts have a hex- or square-shaped barrel, so you can hold them in place with a wrench as you tighten a fastener. Multiple threads in the barrel engage with the screw for secure fastening.

Hex Speed Nuts

These speed nuts can be gripped with a wrench for ease of removal. Quickly thread them to hold fasteners in light duty holding applications. They can also be used as a jam nut to keep hex nuts and bolts securely fastened.

Clip-On Nut Assortments

Keep a variety of clip-on nuts on hand to create fastening points for screws. Simply slide these nuts onto the edges of thin panels.
Low-profile nuts are for low-clearance applications. No-slip nuts squeeze both sides of the panel for a tight grip. They’re also known as U-nuts. Barrel nuts have multiple threads for secure thread engagement.
