They give you complete control over the temperature, since you can adjust the temperature as you go. To protect sensitive components, they don’t create ESD (electrostatic discharge). Choose your station based on the wattage of the iron. Irons with lower wattages are best for work on parts that require precision and high heating efficiency, such as delicate electronic components. Irons with higher wattages are best for heavy parts and thick wires that require large solder joints.

Add different shaped and sized tips depending on the components you're soldering. The smaller the point width, the smaller the solder joint.
